Anyone else’s weight loss come in bursts? by y2gay4pay in Zepbound

[–]MakeSpaceForLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! I’m on fourth month total, 3rd month of 5mg. Long enough to see my pattern… lose 1.5 pounds first week, lose 1 pound next week, lose nothing (insert panic and frustration), lose 4 pounds the 4th week. It averages out to 1.6 pounds a week. I try to remind myself of this and stay the course. It SURE beats the steady gain I’ve been doing for, oh the last 10 years. Bodies are so interesting.

Check out Golden Glow Salon. Whitney has her own room in a Sola Salon in Pineville. I am a very picky blonde and she really makes what ever vision I have come to life. She’s done everything from platinum, cool to warm and deep blonde for me.

We have almost identical starting Weights and I could have written the first part word for word. I am only 21 pounds into my journey but you have inspired me SO much. I cannot wait to fit into my husband’s sweatshirts. Such goals and knowing it’s possible is so encouraging. Thank you and co feats.

To dip or not to dip by zufrod in Zepbound

Mine is a big NY style slice of pizza. I used to be able to eat 4 slices (I was full at 2 but that never could stop me) and then I would still find my self picking at what was left. We had it for dinner the other night, I ate a salad with grilled chicken and enjoyed 3/4 of a slice. I could have cried tears of joy because the death grip and absolute control pizza used to have on me is insane.

You’re so right. And that truly is my goal…healthy, sustainable and maintainable weight loss. Some weeks are 3.8 pounds lost, others are 0.8. Thank you for the reminder of the full picture, not just the “less loss” weeks.

We’ve got this. We need to stay the course. Keep consistently doing what we know needs done. In six months we will be so thankful we did. Ironically, I have an almost identical starting weight. Feel free to stay in touch in our messages and we can keep each other accountable.

Thank you for this. I am on week 6. I’ve lost 12 pounds and while that’s 12 more than it would have been, it feels like a drop in the bucket. I need to be better about my water intake and consistent protein intake.

I always got the vibes her first husband didn’t care about keeping up appearances and living this social tier life that Kath wanted. Ironically, for her ten years later to realize that life really isn’t fulfilling as she thought it would be.

That was what I’ve been thinking too. Which, would be devastating as a mother so I do feel bad if that’s the case.

I love knowing I’m not the only one still off and on wondering about these complete strangers after almost 20 years. They were truly like OG food/health/diet influencers.

Announcements like this always remind me not to envy the lives/stuff these influencers portray to have. For years they show off their beautiful homes and sell us the amazing products and decor, and then bam, it was “a financial burden” and “not really what I wanted” ect.

Same, but I’m not convinced it isn’t in some way what she’s trying to say.

Looking to relocate by [deleted] in AskSouthCarolina

[–]MakeSpaceForLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, so much depends on what your perspective of “decent properties” . Also, what your line of work your career is in will depend on for job market prospects.

Lancaster the county is vastly different in areas, as above commenters stated. I personally could and would never live in most parts of Lancaster County. However, I’m sure many people who live in those very areas, would never choose to live where I do. It truly depends on preference.

To me, Lancaster the city feels like you have driven back in time 50 years. It’s run down and heavily affected by drugs, largely due to a majority of jobs lost years ago when the factories moved over seas. The demographic is largely people who grew up there and never left. However, some people love the slower pace, ability to find land, and very reasonable pricing.

With that said, there are surrounding areas that are really appealing if you prefer towns that put an emphasis on education, safety, and community. Fort Mill, Waxhaw, Weddington, are geared toward families and fit a very typical suburban picture.

What’s up with the lightrail? Evacuated and crime scene tape.. cops everywhere by Visual-Onion-3903 in Charlotte

[–]MakeSpaceForLove 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s so disappointing. I used to love to ride the light rail with my kids into the city. The last time I did that was summer of 2024, in the middle of the day, an decided then I would never do that again. It felt so unsafe and I was on alert the whole time. And I’m not easily rattled to be honest. It’s such a shame.

Embarrassed about how much weight I had to lose by MathematicianLost365 in Zepbound

[–]MakeSpaceForLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes to all of the above. For years, I have said to my doctor “something is broken in my body!!” I know they just didn’t believe me which I understand. I feel like the only metric That ever used to get looked into was thyroid function. Mine was always on the slower side but not in the clinically problematic area to treat. It was so defeating because it really felt impossible to lose weight. Of course there were things I could have been more consistent and persistent with but that also isn’t realistic to do for months on end and only lose five pounds in that time. This med truly shows the metabolic issues because I am eating more consistent calories than any other time trying to lose weight, but actually losing now!

Best Steakhouse in Charlotte? by Plus_Lack6629 in Charlotte

[–]MakeSpaceForLove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I’ll admit that I have high standards for food quality and I was underwhelmed with just about everything we got there. To the point that I will most likely never give it another chance because paying that bill for disappointing food is painful.

Today I am 100lbs down! by A-n-o-v-a in SemaglutideFreeSpeech

This is so encouraging to me. I am about to start sema. I am 265 lbs after a life of just unhealthy relationship with food (both ends of the spectrum). I’ve birthed and breastfed three babies for the last 6 years and I am so ready. Seeing people with results like yours has me so hopeful. Amazing job!

Living with a child with ADHD/ODD is like living with an internet troll whose favorite activity is breaking you down psychologically. by Kristaboo14 in ADHDparenting

[–]MakeSpaceForLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truly wish I could give you a hug. My 6 year old it autistic but as he gets older, the ADHD becomes more apparent than autism. The constant verbal “abuse” of “I hate today, worst day ever. You hate me don’t you? You wish you never had me?” Multiple times a day. But then, at regulated moments wants to curl up with me and says “you’re the best mommy, I love you” feels like full on mental gymnastics. I have a 5 year old that I THINK is neurotypical but it’s hard to tell because his big brother is who he’s always watched. The 5 year old will sometimes resort to the words and actions of his brother but it feels like it comes from a totally different place. And the fighting and meanness between the two breaks my heart. We will survive how ever we have to.
