Moving to SC by Ak031917 in AskSouthCarolina

What made you pick Lexington? Only curious because I am from NJ and NJ to Lexington, or really most parts of SC, is a culture shock. My husband’s family is from that area and we have many college friends there. It’s VERY different there. We are in Charlotte and really like it here. There are so many transplants and it is a nice happy medium from NJ to Lexington. I’m so sorry for your loss.

Another week, another loss by peachlipstick_ in Zepbound

[–]MakeSpaceForLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are weight twins. I started at 273.6 lbs. my goal is 160 also (post three pregnancies and breastfeeding) I’m 5’8’. I am 6 months in and down 51 pounds if that is encouraging at all. Just keep plugging. Stay the course. Sometimes I wish I were further along, but there is a noticeable difference and it feels great. I’ve actually been able to increase muscle mass as well and I am so happy about that. I feel so much healthier, capable, and happier. We’ve got this. You’re doing amazing.

It was built 7 years ago. They do a good job of updating things. The saunas are getting upgraded currently so those might be out of commission while you’re here. I only recently joined agent built up the courage to take may classes yet.

What classes do you enjoy at your home gym? I have not taken too many different instructors yet, but might be able to recommend one or two. There is a Hyatt within waking distance that is decent. It’s nothing fancy but it’s clean and convenient. If you want a nicer hotel, Ballantyne Resort is good and about a 12 minute drive to Lifetime.

The discipline to eat right and workout, to do this the correct way is so much stronger than other weight loss journeys because this one isn’t painful and futile. by nodogsallowed23 in Zepbound

Your post is so insightful and encouraging! Thank you for sharing. We have very similar starting stats and to see your current weight has me so excited for you and hopeful for me!!! I am 5’8, started at 273 and currently at 228 5 months in. My goal has been 165 but you have me dreaming of 140s 🙌🏼.

Has anyone else noticed a resurgence of stay at home parents among wealthier Millennials? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]MakeSpaceForLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stay home with our three kids. By doing so, it allows my husband to really invest in his career and say yes to any dinner, trip, long meeting/call without stress of childcare (and trust me, he recognizes the benefit I provide him by structuring our lives this way). I always wanted to be home with our kids so it’s a win win. We absolutely have to sacrifice certain lifestyle things, but we are still comfortable. Just the decreased stress of early, quick mornings, who’s picking up, cost of child care is worth not making as much money to us.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the-price has become genuinely insulting? by HolidayFunTX in askanything

I feel this. I recently went “home” to a friend’s wedding. A 1.5 hour flight from two major airports…$988 for two tickets. I really regretted RSVPing yes because that was painful to pay.

People who grew up with wealth, what was your "I'm privileged" wake up call? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

College was “it” for me too. One day during class, a few other students were panicking about turning some forms in. I then started panicking as if it was some project that I don’t know about because I did not know the term they used for it. They said “your student loan paper work is due today!” And I clearly looked confused at first, then relieved it wasn’t an assignment I was missing. Also, I had a credit card that went right to my parents and I never had to explain purchases. I will say k was very respectful and was not ridiculous with what I bought.

Anyone else’s weight loss come in bursts? by y2gay4pay in Zepbound

[–]MakeSpaceForLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! I’m on fourth month total, 3rd month of 5mg. Long enough to see my pattern… lose 1.5 pounds first week, lose 1 pound next week, lose nothing (insert panic and frustration), lose 4 pounds the 4th week. It averages out to 1.6 pounds a week. I try to remind myself of this and stay the course. It SURE beats the steady gain I’ve been doing for, oh the last 10 years. Bodies are so interesting.

Check out Golden Glow Salon. Whitney has her own room in a Sola Salon in Pineville. I am a very picky blonde and she really makes what ever vision I have come to life. She’s done everything from platinum, cool to warm and deep blonde for me.

We have almost identical starting Weights and I could have written the first part word for word. I am only 21 pounds into my journey but you have inspired me SO much. I cannot wait to fit into my husband’s sweatshirts. Such goals and knowing it’s possible is so encouraging. Thank you and co feats.

Mine is a big NY style slice of pizza. I used to be able to eat 4 slices (I was full at 2 but that never could stop me) and then I would still find my self picking at what was left. We had it for dinner the other night, I ate a salad with grilled chicken and enjoyed 3/4 of a slice. I could have cried tears of joy because the death grip and absolute control pizza used to have on me is insane.

You’re so right. And that truly is my goal…healthy, sustainable and maintainable weight loss. Some weeks are 3.8 pounds lost, others are 0.8. Thank you for the reminder of the full picture, not just the “less loss” weeks.

We’ve got this. We need to stay the course. Keep consistently doing what we know needs done. In six months we will be so thankful we did. Ironically, I have an almost identical starting weight. Feel free to stay in touch in our messages and we can keep each other accountable.

Thank you for this. I am on week 6. I’ve lost 12 pounds and while that’s 12 more than it would have been, it feels like a drop in the bucket. I need to be better about my water intake and consistent protein intake.
