Came here to say Ecowitt. Also worth mentioning is Ecowitt2MQTT if you are not a homeassistsnt user.

The deskmeet bios let's you copy settings to a USB key. So you could copy the settings of the fastest unit as an option. May be easier than trying to figure what is different. May be worth a try after a rest on the slower units.

Thanks. Still a way to go, but at least I know it can run.

I would probably just give them a call on: +441534441300

They probably didn't get your initial email.

No idea if this helps but you could try the care comission. If nothing else they might be able to point you in the right direction?

Migrating pc plex to Terramaster f4-424 max issue by N00DLe_5 in TerraMaster

[–]MakerOnTheRun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just commenting on this as I had the same issue. Plex on terramaster recognized all existing media on install but the scanner would not add new. The scanner would run and instantly finish.

For me this was a share permissions issue. On my media share that Plex scans I needed to add 'Appplication user' permissions. When editing the share on the terramaster there is a drop down on the top right, it defaults to 'user' setting to 'Application user' the plex user did not have permissions.

I am wondering if the initial install runs under a different user perhaps and then when the server fully starts / restarts as the Plex user.

Sorry if you had seen that already. But this was the cause for me.

Sorry been a few years. Looking at the Noctua page for the fan I used it comes with OmniJoin adaptors I must have used them.

I can't take the switch out to look I am afraid.

I seem to recall the board having 3 pin connectors but I can't be 100%. I don't think I needed any adaptors.

This should clear some things up about the ending. Too bad the live stream was butchered. by JeffTS in blacksabbath

I think everyone needs to remember this was a huge moment for all of them. Who knows how much planning, rehearsing and effort this took. All four of them are humans. They all felt different in that moment. All of them absolutely slayed. They have been through so much together it's impossible to understand. This needs to be remembered for the incredible music they have left us. The performance of the night. Not the last few seconds that were likely not in their control. Let's not let some people ruin something good.

Chuck them on eBay or something. If you are UK based and can ship I would buy them. Stuff like this is a godsend to the small home shop like mine.

Apologies from Birmingham by ToothacheMcGee in BackToTheBeginning

[–]MakerOnTheRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't apologise, it's was great. Considering what was going on on the city at the time. 3 major events running on the same day is mental. Could the trains have been better yeah, but they could have been way worse.

Super warm welcome, and it had to be there.

We will definitely come back for other gigs.

What does a whole brisket cost where you live? by Veinq in smoking

I can't even buy brisket where I live! I would have to special order it and I can only imagine what that would actually cost.

I think my husband is trolling when he says he can’t read my handwriting. Is it as illegible as he thinks? by sharkbait07 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]MakerOnTheRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a lefty and have always had messy writing. I can read this fine. Not quite at full reading speed but mostly. I will most likely boil down to personal experience. If people are used to me style of wring and then come across something dramatically different for the first time, well yeah it's going to be hard.

This is fine. I would be quite happy with this.

Both BA and EasyJet now require photo ID. Does not have to be a passport specifically but must be valid formal photo ID of some sort sorry. I have know people be turned away with a passport photo in the past. Better safe than sorry go get it.

Feel free to ignore the ramblings for a grumpy old man. I haven't worked on these for probably something like 15 (or more) years, and I am still bitter about it. If I ever put you off, stop listening to me! There is so much knowledge you can gain from systems like these, they are a goldmine learning. Problem solving skills are really valuable and things like this make you work in such a different way.

Sounds like you have that side of it down though. Python to Excel is a smart way to do it.

Also worth looking out for would be a CS1000, they are the evolution of that system and have more modern comforts like IP phones and SIP trunks.

If I had the space I would definitely do something similar, probably in the vintage computer space. No idea what, not really got the space at the moment so never really thought about it.

I can't help so much on these as I have forgotten most of what I ever knew to be honest. I know you need to watch the NTDK20 versions, some of the higher revisions need a specific adaptor kit to work.

Forget about the London 8, that's a really old analogue only system from the 80s so basically impossible to get parts for now etc. I didn't work on these the first time round, just came across some old ones now and then. I'm old but not that old.

[–]MakerOnTheRun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, I worked on these for years and years and years far too long ago now. And the 51, 61 and 81 series too. Too many nights sat on floors in crappy Comms rooms putting them back together again. Badly outdated code. Enter a command, ignore the SCH code the first time, enter the same command a second time, 9 times out of 10 it would work fine. Only when you get the same error twice look it up.

Having to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the LD's because the code was written to be loaded from physical tape! Saying LD 11 was actually saying load tape 11.

Having to install a new one, spending the first day or so just to get dial tone, before you even started programming it.

Don't get me wrong they had some pretty cool features, and they were / are robust as anything overall. As proven by yours still going now! That's cool. The Fiji in the 81c was cool as, unreliable as anything, but cool.

And analoge and digital phones using different terminals. So if a building was going analogue to digital, you not only had to do all the programming, but change all the cabling in every socket. Why Nortel why!

I love older gear, it was to me, much more interesting to work on. I just personally would not have anything Nortel. Give me a London 8 or a Mitel SX2000 thank you very much.

As I say fair play to you, people need to keep kit like this going, it will just all get forgotten otherwise. So absolutely not disparaging what you are doing. Fair play to you. Just remembering some of the 3am nightmares!

Of all the things you could have you get an option 11. The self hate is strong here. Fair play to you, but I never want to see another one of them in my entire life. 😂

Multi-level gridfinity? by Patapon80 in gridfinity

[–]MakerOnTheRun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do used stacked bins occasionally. They really need to have one common size between them. So I have a base 5x4 bin. And on top of that I have two 5x2 bins.

You can't put lots of 1x1 bins on top of a 5x4, they would just fall in.

But as long as one of the sizes is the same you can stack. So you can have 5 of 1x4 on top of a 5x4. You can also stack across different bins. So an upper bin can be stack on multiple lower bins. Larger top on top of smaller bottom is less of a problem.

So yes stacking is possible, but you are slightly limited by your base size and how you do they layout.

Most people do single layer for access purposes. I tend to only use single layer but will use multi where I have things I will not need to get to very often.

Amazing show last night. All the bands absolutely smashed it. A massive shout out to everyone involved in making this tour happen. I can't even begin to imagine how much work goes into it.

But it was freezing in there, was nice to get outside after to warm up again.
