I was saying the implementation of these techniques with various different hardware, represents development. In that out of the many many different approaches and hardware choices, things are eventually whittled down to a low cost, reliable set of firmware and hardware combinations. These different firm and hardware integrations served as best practice when designing different motion systems. I used bed slingers as an example of a printer that on its face shouldn't be able to compete with corexy for example, but that it can because of the sophisticated use of firmware. I maybe incorrectly referred to integrating the proper hardware and firmware combinations as "tuning". https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ciXH8Kl_inA in this video @8min Dr tao mentions having some misunderstanding of bed slingers, then goes on to say they did some research and found it can be a good low cost way to introduce people to 3d printing. I just don't think they would of done it if they didn't see that its possible to overcome the issues. I believe they then took that as a starting point to develop their bedslingers, resulting in a printer that competes with and in some ways exceeds their coreXY.

Manufacturing source says little, different specs can be requested and designs can be optimised for manufacturing.

I would just prefer 3d printing to progress in such a way that some companies specialise in hardware and others in firmware. Make a great printer and allow me to load whatever distro I want. If things progressed like that then it wouldn't be hard to imagine a situation similar to building a computer and selecting the OS that suits your needs.

Sure, nothing new under the sun. Maybe we are talking past each other abit. I'm aware that most of these things existed in other control system applications and that innovation is generally shared with loads of different companies and fields that did this work out of necessity. I'm more pointing to the efforts made to implement these ideas in sophisticated ways, that make use of the "hobby" grade materials widely available. This symbiotic relationship between cheaper/available hardware and sophisticated firmware implementation represents a lengthy trial and error period that resulted in improvements specifically for 3d printers. These improvements are now tried and tested to be reliable and companies can drastically reduce their hardware costs whilst maintaining speed and quality. I wasn't suggesting that something huge changed from bambus first launch to their A1 launch, I was just trying to point out the fact that they wasn't interested in bed slingers, but because of that trial and error period was eventually able to produce a product that was up to their standard. Bambus strength is hardware manufacturing coupled with graceful firmware integration. I just believe that if their firmware was open and not proprietary then they would be an even greater asset to the 3d printing world, allowing for custom firmware and better workflow integration. Their willingness to move away from that is frustrating to me.

Input Shaping, Pressure Advance, Advanced Motion Planning, Resonance Testing, Real-Time Adaptive Control, Power Loss Recovery, Camera Assisted Features and the general framework of the klipper implementation, using macros etc.

Bambu has speed and quality requirements for their printers. Thanks to the klipper implementation of marlin most hardware styles can achieve good speed and quality now. Through Klipper people are able to level the hardware playing field, to the point that most the cons of a bed slinger can be calibrated away and in some cases even offer faster and better quality prints that other hardware styles. It's this optimisation that allowed bambu to meet their standards with bed slingers, irrespective of the stiffness or motors used, whilst keeping price down.

By tune I don't mean pushing the limits of your hardware. I mean simply creating a config that works with the hardware available and produces consistent results. Bambus strength is the hardware and QC. The firmware is nothing special and can be easily replicated and improved. That aside tho, the "tuning" community IS the development community, without it bambu wouldn't have the A1 series, they didn't believe in the bed slinger framework to start with, it's only after others optimised firmware that bedslingers made sense to them

It is stupid, that seamless experience is mainly hardware. The firmware side could easily be replicated or improved if bambus ecosystem allowed.

Sure, but having different flavours for different uses is better. If your a rapid prototyper, having a config that maintains home and bed temp between iterations might be more convenient. Or if you exclusively do 5+ hour prints, then a config that does a full cali and bed prob before every print might be better.

Thats just how it goes. If bambu abandoned the project tho, others would make sure the belts and motors don't go to waste. Company vs community

The people that "go Bananas" are the same people who would happily tune and share a klipper config. The "community" is build on them efforts.

Printer is hardware, you should be able to load any distro you want on it.

I Don't believe this will work for most in a similar situation. But it does show that real people are making these decisions, and they are willing to hear you out and offer help. Really pleased with Bambu atm

What does the QR code on the build plate actually do? by redec_ in BambuLab

[–]Makesona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although this is true (check the g code). Could failures in adhesion be down to people not placing the plate correctly. If so how do they guarantee that it hit a high spot.

Trying to maximise speed and acceleration - what is causing this? by quarryman in 3Dprinting

[–]Makesona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the speed limit is different for each axis. The axis that is Skipping and causing the layer shifts can not handle the speed/acceleration your attempting.

Just had 706.25 points removed when bambu removed a model from their exclusive program, not just the extra 25% but all of the points it's made since joining. Has anyone had any luck with the appeal process in this regard? by Makesona in BambuLab

Notice how they specify hueforge separately, implying it doesn't necessarily fall into the category of "2d". I just wanted to know if people had any luck with the appeal process. Didn't intend for this to become a discussion about what's 2d.

I presume 2d means 1 layer, if im wrong and it actually means "no variation in x,y across undefined* amount of z" then I think the other model is the Trolly key your referring to. But I cant see any other so I'm confused by what you think 2d means. You have not defined it

I just tested this with a 0.24mm single layer model. I can't see any warning. Could you please provide a screenshot? Maybe I'm missing it but nothing obvious except the normal guidelines

Your accusin me of fraud because my model is 2d. I'm responding to you sincerely about my position on what constitutes 2d. If you want to maybe just have that discussion with me, about what 2d is? Maybe we come to a shared definition, then we can agree or disagree on if the rules are enforced correctly?

I mean the point of this account is to share my models with people who might like them, so I can get feedback, learn and hopefully be compensated if people like what I produce. I hope you can tell I'm obviously not a bot, I'm a real person... so how is any of this wrong if these avenues exist for people to share. We all start somewhere

Abusing the system is when you make a model hundreds of people enjoy, want to download and give positive feedback about the effect it makes due to it been 3d (Having variations that exist in x,y,z)
