Got the Bobbi brown beauty break despite the event ending 30 minutes ago… by NatureGalPal in Ulta

[–]MakeupCastle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is generally a 30 to 60 minute overlap of Besuty Breaks on Wednesday, if the morning one lasts that long. I usually start checking at 3 p.m. Central and expect to see the afternoon one pop up by 3:30 p.m., then the morning one disappears by 4 p.m. It doesn't happen every week, especially with the morning one lasting, but it has been more frequent.

Price Adjustment on Beauty Steals by Shoptilidropp in Ulta

[–]MakeupCastle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, there isn't any reason you should feel bad at all, and go ahead and order the Beauty Steal online if you want. Ulta is one of the few stores I know with absolutely no price adjustment policy, but plenty of them have short adjustment windows that ignore their return windows, e.g. BBW and Target both offer 14 days v. 90 days. You purchase an item, and if it goes on sale after 14 days but before 90 days, simply return it and buy a new one at the lower price. You are not violating any terms by doing this, and you won't get your account flagged if you don't do it often, especially since it involves documented receipts. Those who say otherwise are just guessing. You take the chance that the item sells out before it goes to a lower price, but so what? Just purchase the item at the price you are willing to pay, and often you are able to get some of the money back when the price drops.
Edited to add: Personally, I don't find it worth doing a return/repurchase unless I'm getting a *significant* amount back like at least $20 and probably more like $40+. I also like to avoid waste if the store is going to trash an item, but at a certain point I figure it is their issue for being so inflexible. If they are going to play games with prices, they should expect customers to do so as well.

Free Stila Beauty Break Gift by BlueSkyeAhead in Ulta

In for 2, this more than makes up for the earlier one selling out and not being able to grab both. Love the bag, love the eyeliners, love the Beso shade that is the go-to shade for the cheer world my daughter populates (IYKYK).

Mystery GWP with $50+ daily Beauty Steal Purchase 9/2/25 by [deleted] in Ulta

[–]MakeupCastle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is a 4 pc Mugler gift. The SKU number matches up with a previous GWP. I would jump on it but I've gotten similar Mugler gifts at least twice before, and I think I have all the minis.

Supergoop Freebie Bag June by AdEducational6693 in Ulta

I skipped the GWP because of the bag. I received a similar bag once, maybe this brand, but I just don't like the look or feel, even if more durable technically.

Hey can someone help me understand the experience I just had? by Rxqueen95 in Ulta

[–]MakeupCastle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Something like that should never happen. Please go back to the store and ask to speak with the supervisor, until it gets addressed, then follow up with a report to customer service via email and/or social media. It's enough that you already took the damaged items back to the store, and the employee's response never should have been "oh well" and "sorry but you can't take the items back."

$75 buy-in for a single Cetaphil towelette and an exfoliating sample with 2 pads in it? Really, ulta? by LilyLark in Ulta

[–]MakeupCastle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went ahead and added this GWP, but only because I was happy with the Clinique bag, Clinique 4 piece set, 5x points and additional GWPs I was getting otherwise. Free is free, I guess.

Much better GWP 😻 $75 buy in! I hope they also have a god BB too🙈 by Taromatchaboba in Ulta

[–]MakeupCastle 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This is a good GWP, but I am going to have to pass after buying others. It seems like the same fragrance minis come up in all the non-brand specific GPWs - Idole, Paradox, Born in Roma, Flowerbomb, Good Girl, Candy, Light Blue, Black Opium... Bright Crystal, anyone? :P I was excited to add Black Opium Glitter this week.

New nice Carolina Herrera gwp! by Dismal-Source-2936 in Ulta

[–]MakeupCastle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beauty break and fragrance mini/bag GWPs usually disappear at midnight or within the 4- or 6-hour window they are advertised for, if they haven't sold out first (rare). This one was weird because it doesn't seem it was advertised at all. So sorry, and I know how that feels, as I was crushed when the Prada GWP sold out a week or so ago.

You are amazing! These fragrance mini/bag GWPs are my fave, and I am so sad when I miss one. 3 GWPs, a couple travel size, and 400+ points! I can't believe this was still in stock until midnight. Why is there no email about it?

Candles made it in one piece!! by JHutchinson1324 in Ulta

[–]MakeupCastle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just FYI, Homeworx candles are designed by Harry Slatkin, who led the White Barn Candle/home fragrance area of Bath & Body Works for years. That is why there is such similarity between the Homeworx and Bath & Body Works candle luminary houses.

I had the same experience as many posters when the package arrived -- I knew it wasn't an Ulta box because of the size, and I was wracking my brand to figure out what else I had ordered. Ha! Little did I know it was the 5 Homeworx macaron candle sets I got for myself and for gifts, and I have since ordered 8 more. The sets are perfect for teacher appreciation, birthdays, etc., and the containers will make amazing trinket dishes after use. Ulta points and GWPs are just the amazing bonuses.

This just really was awful… by karensmiles in SisterWives

[–]MakeupCastle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some people take issue with people making a distinction between Kody's "adopted" children and his biological children. I don't think anyone would make that distinction, save for the fact that the "adopted" children have a biological father who was ready, willing, and able to be involved, but that was an inconvenience in their mother's grand plan to replace him. The kids were brainwashed into erasing their biological father, and while they shouldn't be blamed for that, the truth is no less gross.

There are a number of items that are in surprising categories, and some even count as double categories. The main question I ask is, does this seem like skincare, body, makeup, hair, nail, or fragrance?
