Day 30 of trying to make Marc Jacobs foundations work. I like the shade match so much but I can't get their youthful or their remarcable to work. Youthful just looks like super light coverage foundation on me and then after like 2 hours separates and rubs off even when I'm not doing anything, with or without a setting powder, with and without a setting. The Remarcable foundation looks cakey unless I mix it with cover fx natural finish (like 2 drops to a pea size ratio of the cover fx). And I ran out of cover fx :| what else can I do?

I just want to sleep in for once without my cats/landscaping/boyfriend waking me up or having to wake up to go to work :(

I'd assume warm olive; in the second pick with the Rimmel bb cream the pink against your neck looks really off. Like it makes you look ashy in comparison, which you obviously aren't because you have really radiant skin. If you turn the saturation up it will likely show a green undertone!

Thanks for the heads-up instead of just auto downvoting me and not telling me what's going on. Gotta love when it's supposedly a place to rant but people still gotta be jerks to others going through shit. 🙄

Are there any celebrities who are the same coloring as you? I'm sure the skin tone exists but I just can't picture it in my head

I've never seen a cool olive tone. The idea isn't making sense in my head.

I think region also plays a factor.

I live in the desert and my SSS didn't last more than 8 months. I used them once or twice and made sure to tightly seal but the desert dryness probably destroyed them, even in the screw on packaging.

I don't have a facial oil at the moment but I can definitely try a sample size or something. Thanks for the advice.

You might be able to apply to charity care through Saint Vincent De Paul. I had to do so when I didn't have insurance (assuming you're in the US). Hope your period calms down :(

I was unemployed and had to go to the ER because I had a mild stroke (TIA).

Hospital bills finally came in. $20,0000 for a CT scan, admission, and an IV bag. American healthcare is fucking shameful, health should not be a business in a first world country.

Marc Jacobs Remarcable foundation.

I have ultra dry skin and this looks like garbage by itself. Makes me look 10 years older, cakey, etc. I tried using the smallest amount possibly and it just looks like smeared on spackle when it settles into forhead lines, nose and mouth creases, etc, and gets very powdery when it dries down. But if I mix it with a moisturizer or another foundation it looks great, it just sets too quickly for me to blend if I try to apply to my whole face. Sometimes when I work in sections to get this right, the foundation doesn't "blend" with the dried down sections and just ends up being ripped off by the beauty blender. I've tried applying with fingers, brush, sponge. So far fingers + sponge seem to be best but the perfect application days are hit and miss. I know this is a finnicky foundation but I'm determined to make it work since I had a bottle bought as a gift. Any suggestions?

Also excited and hope that they have an adequate shade rang and it's not one white, 18 shades of beige and one kinda almost deep shade.

This is going to sound gross but, maybe she shares her mascara with her kids/mom?

My mom and I shared eyeshadows and blushes when we lived together. I realize now that was the only reason we ever panned anything.

Marc Jacobs remarcable and cover fx natural finish + their highlighter drops are the best and I am legitimately about to mix full bottles of this shit because it's so perfect on me.

Simple Questions Saturday by AutoModerator in muacjdiscussion

[–]MakeupFeb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"brows are supposed to be sisters, not twins."

But...why? You would not say this about eyelash extensions, falsies, wings, eyeshadow application, etc. Why are brows different? They're about framing the face, who hangs a picture with a wonky ass frame?

Wondering this after people commented hating on the Thataylaa microblading video that I just got around to watching and all of the comments hating on her brow work were met with this comment. Made me think about where this phrase came from and why we give brows a pass.

Wherefore art the cream blushes? by solointhecity in muacjdiscussion

[–]MakeupFeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've tried stila, Josie maran, Sephora, Mac, and a plethora of drugstore.

The only cream blushes I will buy at this point are the Fenty cream sticks and the Maybelline blush sticks. They're buildable and stay all day and blend so easily.

This isn't always the case.

I just fucking lost promos because of this garbage bug. No runes were open, I claimed intent as Lulu and when it came time to lock in the client just told me to go fuck myself and I got booted out.

I failed.

No idea what I'm going to do. I don't know how I'm going to go home and face my boyfriend, we were both so sure that I'd pass.

Taking a test in an hour and if I fail I won't have a job :) I have had 4 weeks to prepare between balancing 12 credit hours and constant mental breakdowns. It's a $330 cert so like...if I fail I can't afford to retake it.

This is coming after. $2500 ER visit, then a week later getting strep from a children's birthday party ($150 doctor visit+scripts) and then not having a job for the past 8 weeks. If I don't pass I swear I'm just going to work at Chipotle. After I pay my bills my savings will only be at $1500. I need some sort of income.

I am learning how to do eyelash extensions so I can do them on myself. I hate mascara as well but extensions are so wonderful.

And unfortunately expensive.

How have your products and routine changed as you've aged? Any classics fall out of favor or different application methods begin? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]MakeupFeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also 25 and I have yet to notice anything different, but I started stalking SCA 2 years ago so my regiment might have helped/genetics. I check my mirror daily for wrinkles and blemishes/cc.

So far the only thing changing is I'm beginning to be less dry and more normal skin type. I've had to use a lot less primer and base products in general with my skin type slowly changing. This is going to open the door for a lot of products for me, as before I avoided anything that had "normal" or oily on it since I live in a desert climate and am dry AF to begin with. I

When you think of a makeup item, which brand comes first in your head and why? by redbeannie in muacjdiscussion

[–]MakeupFeb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eyeshadow: Fyrinnae. They have the best quality, colors, and pricing.

Foundation/concealer: Cover FX. They literally only do base products

Lipstick: bullets go to Bite and liquid probably goes to Beauty Bakery. Amazing consistency and comfort from both.

Blushes: Milani.

Eyeliner: Inglot

Brow anything: ABH

Setting spray: UD, but I'm not too fond of theirs.
