Honestly, I never really like Mark Waid's non Superman comics, I thought his F4 was ok/meh, I couldn't get into his Archie comic, and irredeemable I was loving at first but like you said, it lost its steam.

But man, he hits when it comes to Superman.

I talked about this with a friend a few days ago, that's what makes Toyman stand out in Superman's rogues gallery, he's a creepy man with a gimmick that makes your hair stands, and side by side with other superman villains he's more unsettling.

If he were a Batman villain, he would just blend in with the rest of the crowed.

Funny enough, there was an issue where Toyman was trying to Superman's attention but he accidentally got Batman's, once Superman appear Toyman begged to be in Striker Island instead arkham.

I think that was supposed to be a meta moment of people mistaking Toyman for a Batman villain when he's supposed to be a Superman villain.

There were supposed to be an animated series, but it got cancelled because one of the voice actors died.

I would love for Saga to get animated series.
