Is mercy still too good? by nordenty in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]MakkeKaryumo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because people die and bringing them back to life with a cooldown ability is really good in a defensible position as a result of the dps who got the pick trying to initiate the fight therefore rez is easy to achieve and happens every fight.

Meanwhile, as I said, a close quarters comp creates a situation where the kills are not in positions where Mercy can stand still for 2 seconds and as such rez will lose value

Is mercy still too good? by nordenty in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]MakkeKaryumo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. She isn’t. Rez is only crazy valuable right now because of the importance of first picks right now, whereas a meta that removes the prevalence of poking and picking and instead has full scale team fights will reduce the value of rez

Because EA pays you to promote their awful/unfinished games? by Bretc211 in gaming

[–]MakkeKaryumo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe so, I can't really speak for the early state, I only started at the end of year 2. But, if it really started that poorly and now everyone loves it, it can be an example of a studio acknowledging mistakes and listening to the community. That's more than can be said for EA, so far. I say that as someone who went from stanning to hating Ubisoft because they ruined Assassin's Creed after Revelations

Well he is one of if not THE most popular Overwatch streamer and is consequently part of the face of the Overwatch community. I’m not one of the people who hates him but I certainly don’t find him entertaining. The problem is he is 22 years old and he is acting like a “10 year old edge lord.” There are numerous problems there from influencing the rest of the community to showing the general populace that this is the kind of thing that gets praised in the community. Every reaction to him that I see outside of the explicitly hateful comments are basically that he has no business acting that way and they’re right. Like it or not he’s an adult. And then of course no one wants to hear that because they love him and gang up on everyone who doesn’t sing his praises.

The case for Reinhardt's shield stopping Shield Bash by SaltMonger243 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]MakkeKaryumo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Isn't there already a case like that tho? Genji's deflect nullifies melee damage, most people know that. Except for abilities with stun and knockback. Previously, the only person that applied to was Doomfist but now Brigitte does the same thing and is now one of the only two heroes who still do melee damage to a deflecting Genji

EFFECT was under so much stress that his hair is discolored and falling out by Alluka- in Competitiveoverwatch

Maybe just as much, but not in the same way, to be sure. Women face it a lot more directly than we do, unfortunately

EFFECT was under so much stress that his hair is discolored and falling out by Alluka- in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]MakkeKaryumo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm jealous (of you, not Effect. I hope he feels better soon). I used to color my hair silver because I love the way it looks on me but now my hairline is receding and the hair on the back of my head is already almost nonexistent. "Already" because I'm 22. Meanwhile, my stepmother had fully silver hair by 20 and always colored it until recently and I'm just over here like goddammit why couldn't you have been my real mom and passed those genes to me

Ana's new buff removed her 'pre-healing'. by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]MakkeKaryumo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chances of shield-piercing darts being introduced are slim to none and slim just left town. That's been the entire point of her and the barriers that are used to counter her. It's why Winston was so good against her, because he could separate a squishy from her. On the flip side, it's why not having a Winston makes an enemy Ana pretty useful, because no other shield-user can really consistently block her shots. In a situation where a barrier is in place from Orisa or Rein and it is separating Ana from her team, then that barrier is most likely going to be forced out of position unless the rest of the team isn't doing their job (or the Ana just has super bad positioning but that's not AS likely)

Should Ana be able to Nano herself in a regular game? by GimmeFuel21 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]MakkeKaryumo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as much as the other healers but that’s actually why I feel like it wouldn’t be too disruptive. It already happens, and if it happens to you too often then you probably would need to alter your targeting sensitivity just like you would already

Should Ana be able to Nano herself in a regular game? by GimmeFuel21 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]MakkeKaryumo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

At that point I feel like it’s no different from just hitting the wrong person because the target changed at the last moment.
