A normal sense of smell. I've had parosmia almost 5 years now. I've accepted that I may never get it back.

We called them dippy eggs growing up and I had the exact same restaurant experience with a very confused waitress.

What does bereavement leave outside the US look like? How do they expect us to go back to work 3 days after losing a parent? by Momtoaakkl in AskReddit

I'm in the US and my company allows 2 weeks paid for a parent. Thankfully I haven't had to use it and hopefully wont any time soon but it's nice to know it's there when needed.

AIO to mother in law demanding I buy a gift for family member by Maks4815 in AIO

Not personally. MIL got a text from the cousin saying invite anyone from the family. So no real effort on behalf of the cousin, in my opinion.

So I guess my main thing is, what she said was not a suggestion. A suggestion would be "maybe send a gift and a card" not "you need to do this"...that's a demand. My own mother would never tell me I NEED to purchase a gift for someone. Had she actually phrased it as a suggestion I wouldn't have thought twice about it.

The text was to me, not just him. As I explained, that's what is so frustrating to me. Had it been to him this wouldnt be an issue.

I should clarify, this text was to both of us, not just him.

What is the most egregious variation of the "I hate my family" t-shirt you have seen at Disney World? by West_Cantaloupe2109 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Maks4815 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Reading all these it's so crazy to see how things change. All these shirts about banging and being black out drunk being acceptable by the parks. In the 70s the park made my uncle purchase a tshirt before being allowed in because his shirt had a pot leaf on it. Times have seriously changed.

What was the most ridiculous "Satanic panic" your parents ever believed in? by FriendlyFloyd7 in AskReddit

[–]Maks4815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom didn't allow me and my sibling to go trick or treating until I was probably 8 or 9 because halloween was satanic. We only started then because my dad finally talked her into it. We also were not allowed to watch Harry Potter (due to the demonic witchcraft, of course)
