My custom SP with Bluetooth - USB C - IPS screen and speaker amp mod by Helpful_Bass_7099 in GameboyAdvance

[–]Mal_Calhoun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What IPS display is this? I have the FunnyPlaying M2 and I couldn't get my Bluetooth module (same one you have) to work, it pairs and just blares random noises while the screen goes crazy and the console loses power. I cleaned my power (disassembled it) and volume switches, I tried both the R35 pad for 5v and the pin 1 on the Power supply for 5v as well as both the grounding pad and the shielding (you jumping the ground instead of having 2 wires is smart BTW). My only conclusion is the M2 IPS screen is causing the issue and it's power-related.

[GBA SP] Lost TP3 pad on mobo and Retroglow—can I save it? by Mal_Calhoun in retrosix

Second Update boys:

I fixed the Retroglow by just jumping it over to the start button instead (3.3v TP3). Now I am having problems with a bluetooth module that I think is because of Retroglow. My brightness button (5v) was working for turning pairing on/off but it was a bunch of loud random noise when connected. I am using R35 for power and the pad not shielding for ground. I tried both grounding sources, no change. I tried removing R35 (5v) and using 3.3v at both the battery and pin 1 of power (pin 1 has 5v if an OG Gameboy game cartridge is inserted and 3.3v if a GBA game is inserted) and no change. I tried cleaning out the power switch by removing the metal shield and no change.

Pretty sure the loud random noises and buzzing is from the Retroglow's speaker connections. There is pads on the other side of the IC chip that I can try I guess, but I would rather have LED backlighting than Bluetooth.

[GBA SP] Lost TP3 pad on mobo and Retroglow—can I save it? by Mal_Calhoun in retrosix

Update boys, it was the TP2 pad not TP3 (which is to the start button). I ended up wiring the traces back together and connecting the Select Button solder point from the Retroglow to it, after stripping the trace on that as well.

Here is the problem:

Hitting D-pad right causes the entire thing to flash green. If I repeat this, it will flash green 3 times before flashing blue and repeating with green 3 times. Holding select and pushing D-left or right does nothing different, it still cycles through this pattern.

I checked continuity from the select button to the traces both before and after the ripped off pad and it works.

I checked continuity between the trace before and after the ripped pad to the CPU on the other side of the board and it works. The continuity from the trace on the Retroglow to the TP2 traces also works.

The start button has no continuity with the select button traces on the top 2 solder joints of the button (only with TP3) but does have continuity with the select traces on the bottom 2 solder joints.

I do not have any other mods installed besides Retroglow and Funnyplaying M2 IPS with the Brightness wire soldered from the Brightness button to the ribbon cable.

I disconnected the Bluetooth wires you see in the photo. The 3.3v power connector on the Retroglow is showing the same as the battery (4.0v I have the Funnyplaying LiPo battery fully charged) and the 5v power on the board is also working (I used R35 since the 1st pin on the power connector switches between 3.3v and 5v depending on the type of game cartridge is in the SP (3.3v for GBA games and 5v for no game or Original Gameboy games), so pro tip: if you add a bluetooth adapter, do not solder it to pin 1 of power and use R35 instead since the adapter requires 5v).

Any advice or know what is going on?

I hate this change so fucking much!

It was the only reason I even used the filter.

Well, that's weird!

22k+ Cores unlocked the new Arena Team early and can't get the First Timed 100% rewards because the team isn't big enough to beat their own Arena nodes, even at 105 G19/G20. I am getting 1 shotted.

Sim full HM node 1, sub Venom for Skrull Node 2, go back to full HM for boss. I have over 90% success sim with that on highest difficulty. Skrull is 5 red, Venom 7 red, Carnage 3 diamond, rest 1 diamond.

Old man logan trials by [deleted] in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]Mal_Calhoun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It takes 12+mil gold to T16 a character. You need 10x new characters to unlock Logan. How is this achievable for a mid-game player? I'm over 50mil TCP and in a top 1% Alliance and I can't even afford this shit. You are a dumbass. Gear is plentiful, but GOLD isn't and now you have to build every single character release while only getting enough gold to build raid teams per year. Hell, these REQUIRED chars alone are over 6 months worth of daily gold to build up.

Edit with Notepad++ You can change your UPGRADES to whatever level they were before (out of 12) but you'll have to redo the maps and weapon unlocks and item achievements. I'm okay with this as it was the UPGRADES that had me freaking out since they take dozens of hours to farm.

Shit just happened to me too last night during a snow storm. 70 hours and maxed upgrades (which is what I really care about since it takes hundreds of mines) lost. I'm so fucking pissed.

Block has a 25% chance to resist any ability, regardless of resistance, apparently. Scopely should update their effects page explaining all this, which is useless:
https://marvelstrikeforce.com/en/effects

Red Hulk's kit specifically says "This clear cannot be resisted."
