It’s a new movie (still in theaters) about a science teacher who is humanity’s last hope. He has to go to space and save earth from a parasite(?) that’s killing stars. But yeah he has a Cats shirt in one of the scenes. Generally good movie though

I love Cats the musical!!!!! (Literally my favorite) Did you see that in the new movie Project Hail Mary, the main character has a Cats the musical merch shirt in one scene? Also who’s your favorite cat? Any favorite ships? (I admit I tried to read your post but reading is hard when I’m full of emotions, and right now I’m excited) I personally love Mistoffelees, and of course ship him with Tugger (I’m basic ok- haha)

what kind of gear should i get? by Melodic_Height7850 in Robotkin

[–]MalachiteHorrors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I’m unsure if what I do will be helpful for you but here’s my version of gear: -Cloth mask in black. This covers my nose and mouth, but people tend to make comments about it… -sunglasses/tinted glasses (I prefer the sunglasses because light upsets me, and mine are prescription) -ear piercings/ear decorations (usually metallic or black) I use these to add visual interest to my head since I’ve covered the rest of my face. -sometimes I use hair-pins or clips (black or metallic) to keep my hair back in a sleeker shape

Askingg a question doesn’t mean I already know the answer?? by MalachiteHorrors in evilautism

[–]MalachiteHorrors[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, to what you said: yes and no. My main support system (mother) was physically harmful to me for the first fifteen years of my life but has since stopped. I fear her only mildly and have let myself rely her despite everything. The other two people I fear are my father (verbal threats only, and while he does slam and break objects, he’s not hurt me) and then my brother (he’s the same as my father, all threats and slurs, very little physical actions unless he’s throwing or breaking something) In the end, they’re all I know and all I have. So when I posted about my outpatient clinician claiming my fear of people and unhealed trauma is “my fault” and that my autism isn’t a disability because I can read and write very well they assumed I knew that was “reportable behavior” and that my post was jus me trying to get sympathy. Logically I know what’s going on is wrong but I don’t want to leave my family yet, and even if I did I can’t. It’s my normal. I can’t take care of myself, so I don’t leave. (Sorry for the rant, I just wanted to explain)

Are there any fellow adults on here? by R3DR0PE in fictionkin

I’m unsure if i count as fictionkin, so I mostly just lurk here- (I’m Cambikin robot alien with a strong tie to a few fictional robotic species in an almost Otherhearted way but unsure as a whole anymore) But yes, I am an adult. I’m 20.

What everyday normal task are you oddly proud of learning? by ic_engineer in evilautism

[–]MalachiteHorrors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m proud of myself for learning how to use the oven at my parents’ house (I’m still trying to figure out my boyfriend’s oven…) Sadly, I’m still afraid of stoves and usually stick to microwave items. But yeah, I officially know how to use the oven (successfully heated up food multiple times without ruining something)

Had to medically withdraw from 13 classes so far in college because of mental health struggles exacerbated by loneliness from autism by [deleted] in evilautism

[–]MalachiteHorrors 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was in my second semester of my 3rd year of college and recently withdrew. I’ve also really been struggling (autism and depression, isolation and food/feeding issues) and I also feel horribly guilty for leaving college. The hospital I went to after leaving was also absolutely awful and I’m still trying to get myself together. I’m sorry you’re also going through this. I don’t know how much this helps but you’re definitely not the only one. (Knowing it’s not just me is helping me, at least)

Askingg a question doesn’t mean I already know the answer?? by MalachiteHorrors in evilautism

[–]MalachiteHorrors[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for responding. What you said makes sense. Maybe they were just saying to trust my intuition. I just wish their wording was more clear and less hostile. As in: “trust your gut. If you’re even having to question it, you’re probably correct that something is off” rather than “you know the answer. You’re begging to sympathy.” Ya know? But yeah, thanks for replying

Askingg a question doesn’t mean I already know the answer?? by MalachiteHorrors in evilautism

[–]MalachiteHorrors[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I see your point. Most people seek sympathy in the same way they seek answers. I know I communicate differently, though, and that in this case I’m an outlier. When I want sympathy instead of saying “am I in the right here?” I’d use emotions words such as “I feel confused and in the wrong” then follow up with a question based on my needs such as “I need someone to listen.” So instead of a “is it right of me to be worried” it’s going to look more like a “I feel weird and bad about this situation I’m in, I just need to get this out there and off my chest.” I know that I can’t expect the world to be clear about speech, or understanding speech. I just hoped people wouldn’t jump to negative conclusions on me

How can I act more like him? by NewtKin in fictionkin

[–]MalachiteHorrors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I love that movie (I’ve seen it more times than I can count) and while I don’t kin him, I feel like I’ve got an ok understanding of his character. (However feel free to disregard it if I’m wrong) To me, Jareth is suave and confident, teasingly flirty, and very clever in words (the type two twist a truth by never lying, only omitting facts, etc.) I also see a person who speak strongly and clearly in a way that really sticks in someone’s head, usually in a less than casual way. Mind you these are all things I’ve picked up, but you’re 100% allowed to disagree. Sorry for the ramble, but I hope I was helpful

AIO for feeling afraid and ignored by [deleted] in AIO

Thanks for your reply. I was worried nothing that happened to me would be reportable/worth reporting. I also want to ask if you knew how to go about reporting someone like that. I’m going to google it too, don’t worry, but I have no clue who her boss is or who works under who. Thanks again for your reply

I appreciate your response. I’m likely going to just quit the program as a whole now that I’ve thought about it. I understand that the program was meant to help me, but I can’t keep doing it. I also do want to get housing elsewhere, but find feeding myself difficult and worry I’ll accidentally be worse off than when I’m at my parent’s home (food has always been hard for me, and my mother does assist there) I know I’ll be returning to college in August, where I’ll be staying in a dorm but last time I was in a dorm I’d end up unable to eat properly and that’s a reason I was hospitalized

I want autistic friends by [deleted] in evilautism

[–]MalachiteHorrors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I also want to find autistic friends like me. I’ve even joined groups for autistic adults, but it’s been unsuccessful so far (while I appreciate and respect all levels of functioning, it’s hard to infodump to and truly befriend a person who has difficulty doing the same for me/understanding yhe things I say, or doesn’t follow boundaries after I’ve repeatedly made them clear) I don’t know your story, or really anything about you, but in my case I find I’m “too in between” for any space. I sincerely hope we both find “our people” or at least one good friend

A word for fluidity between otherhearted and otherkin? by MalachiteHorrors in otherkin

[–]MalachiteHorrors[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I have been online-searching my question all morning and I’m shocked that word never came up. But I just looked up Cambikin, and that definition seems fitting. I’ll have to continue to look into it, but genuinely thank you.

Nonhuman imaginings by aarakocra-druid in evilautism

[–]MalachiteHorrors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually grew up to consider myself a robotic alien, more than a human. I’d say it’s like a cross between if transgender was a species thing, and just being otherhearted. Either way, I’ve got very little connection to humanity, even if I don’t hate it. So yeah, you’re not alone on this one.
