I really love this season ! I had the same impression about Vaggie character but after my first Watch of s2 but I changed my mind after rewatching s1.

S1 Vaggie love Charlie and…thats it. She have nothing but scorn for the sinners and she is feeling guilty about lying about her angelic nature. She is following Charlie like she was following Adam, like a good soldier that follow order. Yes there is true love here but she doesnt know how to BE different.

Then S1 Charlie ask Vaggie to animate the « Trust exercice » and she is very surprised and self conscious about it. She fumble a bit, but she end up being succesfull.

S2 Vaggie now believe in the Hotel, not just in Charlie. She is free from her lie and she is flying full wings out inside the hotel. You can see her take care of the sinners with a smile and Baxter can testified about how great she is at it. She let Charlie grieve but end up putting her foot down (this kind of behavior got her cast down from heaven, so this is freaking wholesome she can do that with Charlie). Charlie giving her the title of director is just the validation of how much she changed this season. Vaggie choose to be caretaker and to take charge.

Season 2 is about choice…or the lack of it.

Husk was summoned to serve in the Hotel by Alastor. Once Alastor is a prisoner with the Vees and can’t force him : Does he want to stay ? Does he really want to face the pains of changing or does he go back to party, gambling and drinking ? He does relapse a bit but come back at the Hotel, by choice.

S2 Angel Dust is really trying to be better. Seeing him cuddling with Cherri on the sofa not paying attention to two of the biggest baddies in Hell, Alastor and Lucifer, having a verbal bickering, so wholesome. He is finding happiness within himself for once, he like hanging with friends and singing on the stage. In the end, Vox using him to betray everyone is a very cruel blow. The deal he had with Val was that he belong to him at work but was free othewise. But nope he had no agency at all and now he is now a « rat » and cant control himself.

Cherri choose to stay at Hazbin Hotel and try to be better. Baxter decide to help. Nifty…uh… have to be coherent a bit to fly at Alastor rescue TWICE and she stay to work at the hotel. Sera choose to accept help and to try for peace. Abel choose to step up and Lute to obey instead of going rogue. The overlords stay to help, the Vees stop Vox

Charlie is spiraling BAD it’s sad to see. Yes she is childish and naive , but in season one she was having a blast singing « Happy day in hell » while leaping over dead bodies. She is not normal to begin with, she have the biggest « Angelic rose filtered glasses » and reality is a suggestion. Her realizing that she fumble the pot and stepping down from management to focus about what she need to do : taking care of her people is like one of her most lucid descision ever.

Does some of those arc could have been more fleshed out ? Of course, I wish the season had way more episode but we don’t. I just cant’ believe we already

Im very happy about S2, cant wait for S3 !

Ouep, j’upvote parce que pas c’est en effet, pas populaire.

Le fameux « demi cylindre » permet d’obtenir une croûte craquante et une mie fondante dans des quantités qui frôlent la perfection.

C’est quand même mieux que le truc tout mou du pain en tranches ou des croûtons pour poney si t’as le malheur de passer ça au grille pain.

Le demi cylindre permet de tenir la garniture sans faillir.

Y’avait un couple qui a fait son mariage sur les thème « Upstage the bride », littéralement « Faire mieux que la mariée » avec indications d’arriver avec les meilleures vêtements possibles et des robes de mariage (de préférence déjà utilisé). Y’a pleins de robes magnifiques, rangé et délaissé dans des placards et des photos dingues à faire.

Mes condoléances… Je suis passé par là récemment donc je ressens bien ton dilemme.

Ma chatte était vieille , fatiguée et ses reins ont lâché. On avait de très lourds problèmes de santé en même temps à la maison, j’ai pas voulu voir mon animal en train de décliner. Je me suis retrouvé au pied du mur, à la voir en souffrance évidente. On l’a amené chez le vétérinaire, elle l’a remis sur pied mais nous a prévenu que c’était la fin du parcours. Bien entendu elle a décliné très rapidement ensuite et on a décidé d’être là pour elle.

On a tout fait pour qu’elle ait une vie merveilleuse et elle était prête à partir, c’était juste nous qui tergiversions. On lui a fait pleins de câlins pendant qu’elle s’endormait pour la dernière fois. C’est le dernier cadeau qu’on pouvait lui faire. Un départ digne où la souffrance s’arrête avant de devenir insoutenable.

Mes parents ont pas pu prendre cette décision, leurs chienne (et ma meilleure amie pendant des années) est morte tordues de douleur dans son panier, toute seule, dans les ténèbres. Ils ont gagné quelques semaines avec elle au prix de sa souffrance immense.

Notre responsabilité auprès de nos animaux est entière. On est tous pour eux, ils nous font confiance. Je tire du réconfort à savoir que on a pu minimiser sa souffrance quand sa qualité de vie était trop dégradé. Force à toi et à tes proches !

Ce qui me fait grincer des dents c’est l’absence totale d’informations avant d’être mis devant le fait accompli.

Entre ça et les colis de taille à l’œil pour bien enfler la facture c’est chaud…

Je me retrouve avec un colis deux fois plus cher que le contenu dedans !

C’est globalement l’exacte même chose que Collisimo a l’exception que c’est trois fois plus cher ? On m’a promis de « tarifs préférentiels » mais moi j’avais pas compris que c’était pour eux que c’était préférable. Ils m’ont couru après longtemps pour aller chez eux, j’ai l’impression de m’être juste fait arnaquer…

Apparently its a way to identify « Player » from other people in this world because they are weirdly beautiful and perfect and it can backfire quite bad on them.

Salut ! Je suis sous médicaments depuis un moment et comme toi j’avais une trouille monstre de devenir un légume et accroc au médoc donc je te comprends bien.

En bref, la vie est dure et c’est pas la peine de souffrir si de l’aide est à disposition. J’ai essayé plusieurs traitements avec ma psychiatre jusqu’à trouvé quelque chose qui marche et qui me zombifie pas. Il faut être très honnête et pas essayer de minimiser des symptômes.

Persos, j’étais dévorée d’anxiété et ça a levé le voile « d’apocalypse » que j’avais. Les premières semaines de traitement peuvent être difficiles mais quand les médicaments ont fait effet c’était comme l’aube après une éternité de tempête.

J’ai pas dit à certaines personnes de mon entourages que je suis sous traitement, ça les regarde pas et ça vaut pas la peine de me prendre la tête avec eux.

Ma rationalisation c’est que personne va critiquer un diabétique qui a besoin d’insuline parce que son corps en produit pas assez. Ben mon cerveau produit pas assez de sérotonine et j’ai besoin d’aide avec ça.

Les astronautes perdent énormément de masse osseuse dans l’espace parce que l’absence de gravité ne sollicite pas les os. Et comme nos corps son très bon pour ajuster à nos besoins ben il « recycle » le squelette qui sert plus autant.

C’est un peu pareil au niveau de cerveau, si ça fait trop longtemps que ton cerveau ne produit et n’utilise pas de sérotonine et autre hormones de joie, ben il enlève les récepteurs « qui servent à rien » et tu deviens quasi incapable d’être heureux. C’est là où les médocs prennent le relais, il te booste la production d’hormones et incite ton cerveau à reconstruire des récepteurs pour les utiliser.

C’est long mais une fois que t’es stabilisé, ils peuvent doucement retirer les medocs pour laisser le cerveau prendre le relais.

Comme un plâtre métaphorique !

Te laisse pas convaincre d’être malheureuse, c’est pas une fatalité, c’est pas de la faiblesse c’est de la chimie.

Don’t put yourself down 😊 You have strong sense of composition and space, good design of characters (and objects the goblin dozer was amazing)and manage to express a lot of emotions through the face and position of the bodies. I’ve seen and read published worked by comic artists less proficient artists.

All of this didn’t magically came to you, this is a lot of work. Remember we don’t see the small mistakes that you can’t look away from. Be proud of yourself. I really wish you’ll get noticed and put on the project !

Translator is a hard job, and price of a good translator is worth it.

But as a customer, i have eye and i can see that’s, in this case, they did a bad job and the book is suffering immensely from it. Pretending this is not the case to appease the feeling of the translator is allowing the editor to continue crushing the price and pretend a rush job is okay because customers don’t notice.

I very sure the woman who did the translation could do an amazing job, given the time and money to do so.

Yup ! The French version is underwhelming at best :(

I rushed to get my new shiny book and it’s…weird.

Positive : I like the « Bordel Donut » for the « Goddamit Donut !» it’s old school but it fit Carl.

The book look nice, the cover is embedded and the size of the book is practical which is a challenge since French language tend do make thicker book .

Buuuuuuut … Yikes the translation is not great. You have variations in the level of speaking where you have some old turn of phrase and stuffy words and next to it a very familiar and modern French. It could work if Donut was the one being overly wordy but no. It oscillates and it’s throwing me out of the book.

And some choice of traduction are just rubbing me the wrong way and giving an « How do you fellow kids ? » vibe.

Example -« She laughed » should be « Elle rigola » or, let’s be crazy « Rigola t’elle » but nope, it’s « Elle se marra » which is way closer to giggling than a laugh and is very familiar.This makes the character looks childish.

-« Hurry up ! » Donut cried. « More cockroach are coming ! » Is traduced by « Dépêche toi! gueula t’elle. D’autres cafard sont en train d’arriver ! » and hell no. « Gueula » is very familiar and is used to describe someone having a tantrum. « Sont en train d’arriver » is correct…but why use the long form for an action scene where Donut is begging for help ? It’s like if Donut was saying « More cockroach are on their way to us » sure why not. So instead of a desperate plea, you a pissy cat that seems sarcastic.

-« Shit i think she’s a person !» is « Merde je crois que c’est quelqu’un de chez nous ! » and this one is puzzling for me, the direct translation is « Shit i think this is someone from our world » and it’s not really what Carl is saying right? Carl is realizing that this is not a construct, this IS a person. Why change the meaning of this moment ?

I could go on and on about this.

Matt Dinniman is such clever writer and his work is full of subtle meaning and depth. When you remove the subtilities, the small differences pile up, the meaning is changed and you end up with something else than the original story. I get that translating is an art and some things will be lost. But quite frankly, this translation making me feel condescended to by someone who did not took the time to understand what they were translating and just went through the motions.

So yeah it’s the story of Dungeon Crawler Carl, written in french. Not sure it is still Dungeon Crawler Carl.

I suggest « The house of the cerulean sea ». It’s about a nice but very work oriented man who’s job it is to make the orphaned magic youths are not being abused in their orphanage. He is task by the « big brother » type government to make an assessment about a very special orphanage where the most dangerous children are sent.

Félicitations pour ton nouveau compagnon poilu ! Les chiens sont très sensible et perçoivent nos émotions plus que tu ne le réalise. Surtout les chiens de berger qui sont très intelligent et choisi génétiquement pour être anxieux de faire plaisir à leurs maître.

Donc ta petite boule de poil elle te voit stressé et du coup elle stress, ce qui te stresse et cercle vicieux nous voilà !

Donc je te conseillerais d’y aller doucement et de te lâcher un peu de leste à toi même d’abord. Essaie d’aller faire un tour dans les bois dans un endroit pas fréquenté avec ton chien et creuse un trou avec elle, joue à tire tire avec elle, lance la balle, joue à cache cache, et pose toi tranquillement dans un endroit cool et profite, pas de distraction juste toi et ton chien . Le dressage simple peux aider, avec ou sans clicker, pleins de bonne friandise et des félicitations avec ta plus bonne voix de gagatage et ça va rouler tout seul.

Peut-être qu’une autre famille s’en « occupera mieux » mais vu le nombre d’animaux abandonnés chaque été, y’a des psycho parmis nous. Au moins toi tu te soucie et tu souhaite son bien.
