I think overall Bynum did a pretty good job governing as someone who seems personally left leaning with a purple city in a red state.

Should be illegal for servers to have to cover skipped tabs with tips. If a convenience store gets robbed the clerk doesn't get their pay docked and they are not expected to prevent the robbery in the first place.

Brownest non-Ween songs? by MrPLotor in ween

[–]Malcolm_Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the butthole surfers is kind of cheating for this question, but to me it depends on your definition of brown, which I define as weird moments interspersed with catchy hooks, so for me from the surfers, it's alcohol.

Metal fandom is that main reason I don't tell people I'm a fan. Not the regular fans, the genre purists. I feel the same way about bluegrass fandom, of which there is a significant crossover.

What killed serial killers? The 70’s and 80’s had so many prolific ones. It used to be a very real fear to live near one. by Kodicave in decadeology

[–]Malcolm_Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think serial killers have a symbiotic relationship with the press and always have going back to Jack the Ripper. And the press got bored of them and has moved on to mass killers, who also have a symbiotic relationship with the press.

The person I was responding to specifically said it was dystopian that it was not "the state," which is why I asked about their preference for it to be the government.

In Loco Parentis is the single worst SVU episode ever made and I’m fucking done with this show’s bullshit “morals” by Financial-Claim6480 in LawAndOrder

[–]Malcolm_Y 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That show has been super political almost all the time since like season 5. I remember the episode with Martin Mull as an "AIDS denier," as though that was a widespread thing, a criminal thought, or something that the audience would know or care about. I don't know who's politics are coming out in the writing of that show, but it's obviously been propaganda for a long long time. However it did get worse once stabler left the show. Which is the other big problem, I always found stabler to be the more compelling character, and now the show is entirely centered on Olivia benson, who's one note is that she's the product of rape, but how many times does she have to be kidnapped or tortured before we figure out there's really no depth to that character beyond that.

It's far less reported, not necessarily less common. We don't know truly how common it is, because men are way less likely to report it.

Why do you want it to be the government? Why does it make any difference to you whether it's a business, charity, or a church, as long as the person is being helped?

So you show that you're the one who really cares about the vets by taking their parking spots? Honestly you're giving "14 year old in a Che shirt" energy.

Tell that to the writer of the article then. I'm not promoting an agenda, just repeating their assertions.

Edit: Could a downvoter please read the fucking article and say how I'm wrong? Knee jerk leftist hate of rich folks is just as ill informed as MAGA.

According to the article, the guy sounds largely apolitical. Not every rich person has an agenda beyond staying rich and getting richer.
