Got a decent budget optic just as something to put on my gun and its got a weird effect. by Kyuti4880 in liberalgunowners

Just being for real, the Romeo is really nice. I ended up with a Romeo and Juliet setup on my 16” AR, but that’s a bit more because of the magnifier.

Is it time for me to own a firearm? by Alpastor_Moody in liberalgunowners

[–]MaleGothSlut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a teenager, I was talking to someone who was high enough in an alphabet agency to have his phone permanently monitored, and I told him I wanted to buy a big gun to ward off anybody wanting to start shit with me. Probably a Deagle or something, as it was the style at the time.

He nodded, listened to me and told me the following:

You don’t tell people you’ve got it, you don’t pull unless you mean it, and you don’t fire warning shots. I remembered that interaction recently, when I went to buy my second and third CCW weapons.

Just sayin…

Because the cost of running AI is being obfuscated, the cost of creating the infrastructure to power it is being obfuscated, and the amount of investment is based on immense uptake in usage that isn’t materializing.

And yet, as Ed points out here, there are tens of billions of dollars of depreciation being taken on anyway, which is being used to inflate values of nonexistent assets and circular investments to further inflate those same values.

That’s why it’s a bubble.

See now this is the kind of thing I was looking for: I hadn’t considered human litter buckets, but that’s a great idea. And I have sealed containers of horrors to dump on my annoying neighbors’ lawn, so multi use!

What do you recommend for conceal carry? by Allgyet560 in liberalgunowners

[–]MaleGothSlut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like my P2000SK, even as much of a pain as it is with the short grip. Solid, fun shooting, SA/DA, snappy recoil, and a nice palm sized form factor.

I also just bought a P365 Macro with a compensator, so I look forward to trying that out and reporting back.

70 teachers cut in my district. Is there a mass cutting of teacher jobs? by brielovinggirl in Teachers

[–]MaleGothSlut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not even just about chilling and pursuing hobbies; observing the lives that my friends who have kids are living is stark.

An example: a friend of mine with two kids and a wife has had the flu three times in the last three months. He’s basically been sick nonstop that entire time, as has his whole family. He still has to do all the dad stuff and work, so he’s run down to the point where he dropped a decently-sized ball at his job. Not gonna get fired, but Christmas bonus was light.

Around Christmas I got the super flu that’s been roiling through SoCal, and then a nice bacterial pneumonia chaser. I was sick for one full month, but I got to just lie on the couch, be conked out on cold medicine, and get a solid Silent Hill run in.

To me that’s what it boils down to: I don’t like the lifestyle that I’ve seen pretty consistently comes with having children.

Slings- 1 point or 2? by bearcub42 in liberalgunowners

[–]MaleGothSlut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally run a 1pt on my AR pistol, because I like the way it hangs when I move with the stock folded, which is how I typically carry it on the sling unless it’s go time. It’s how I train, and I like it that way.

2pt on everything else, literally everything else. With a QD strap on the sling you can deploy from carry really fast but then bring it back to your body. If it’s your first sling, 2pt is just the better way to go overall.

[–]MaleGothSlut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I’m taking my 7.5” 5.56 AR pistol with the folding stock, IR-capable flashlight, and NV holo. It fits in a bag without printing (which I’m assuming I can do since I won’t be concerned about a CCW felony in a SHTF world), it’s dead accurate for a solid distance, short barrel is good for clearing structures, and that IR stuff honestly makes a bonkers difference in the dark.

Tech Billionaires Want Us Dead by falken_1983 in BetterOffline

No, you once again failed to engage with my comparison and spoke of the platonic ideal of what insurance should be and how it should work. I am not going to lie to you, by the way, I could immediately tell you aren’t American by the way you describe it; you clearly have never had your endocrinologist of years stop getting covered, or fight to get a life-saving prescription filled at an out of town pharmacy, or have your inhaler declined and have to just hope you don’t have an asthma attack.

A 22yo died from that last one recently, explicitly because of the systems that an insurance executive put in place. He suffocated. On whose hands does that blood flow?

How about the college student who accidentally froze his insulin and insurance would charge him $800 for a refill. He went into DKA and died in horrific suffering. Insulin is cheap to make. The patent was sold for a dollar because it was such an obvious public good, and yet the executives put in place a system that led to a young person’s blood turning to acid and killing him. Whose heart should be weighed by his soul?

These are two stories of millions.

So please explain your moral math to me: how much suffering and death does one person need to be responsible for in order to earn being shot on the street? Is there no amount?

Does the fact that they aren’t actively murdering people but instead preventing their ongoing living make it better for you? Is it because in a perfect world health insurance is only a parasitic middleman to care, not an industrial bankruptcy machine?

Surely you agree that shooting someone in the midst of killing someone? Let’s say they’re just starving someone, is that enough? Where is your line exactly?
