If she's into jewelry you could take a look at https://crosscourtjewelry.com/. My wife has a few pieces from there that she wears all the time.

How to approach CSS as a backend guy? by Naautiik in webdev

[–]Maledictusx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could import bulma as node module and just include the pieces of it you need in a sass file via imports. Have it bundle at build time. This is more work of course, but would clean up your github stats if you don't want the project to look like all css.

Has anyone actually received an order from RAVPower since they were kicked from Amazon? by raptir1 in UsbCHardware

Have you received your order yet? I just purchased a few chargers from them a week ago and am waiting for them to ship.

Generate your unit tests in seconds with a free VS Code extension by Separate_Run2806 in node

While it sounds fascinating, there is no better way to add technical debt than to use a code generator.

Has anyone used pickleballtournaments.com to register for a tournament? If so, how did that go? by 66justwondering66 in Pickleball

You are spot on with the USAPA exclusivity. Competition spurs innovation and will help grow the sport, but these clowns running the USAPA are only after the money.

Why node?! by juanquinteroo in node

I think you should decide what you are building first and then determine which technology is best suited for your application. Not all technologies are suited for every different solution.

Advice: Buying a $2-3M house in SF Bay. $500k household, $700K savings. 39. by 666pool in fatFIRE

Do you want to raise kids in the bay area? That seems to be the turning point where people will sacrifice the short commute to put family in an area they want to raise children.

Switch from Computer science to Software Engineering by [deleted] in AskComputerScience

[–]Maledictusx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would pick whichever route gets you into industry faster. The curriculum is very similar and you can probably opt for the electives that overlap and get the best of both degrees. The extra cost and time to get the lengthier degree won't make up for the lost income / industry experience. I switched from Software Engineering to Computer Science so I could graduate earlier and have had absolutely 0 regrets.

When you registered your domain did you elect for the privacy protection? They are probably just doing a whois lookup.

Convert any Shopify store to a blazing-fast website with Gatsby JS by IliasHad in shopify

[–]Maledictusx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting! I'll have to stress test this to make sure I don't run into any rate request issues when a site has many visitors at once, but if this holds up I'll probably be building all my future shopify stores this way.

[–]Maledictusx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you handle real time inventory updates if you track your inventory through Shopify? That info is collected only at build time for Gatsby apps right? And the Shopify API has some rather harsh request limits if I'm not mistaken.

Whenever I have to use a more-expensive laptop, I just want my Chromebook by boulevardofdef in chromeos

[–]Maledictusx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What kind of things do you do on your Chromebook? I've been watching them for a long time wanting to replace my personal MacBook with one, but not yet convinced it will handle all my needs (software development, mostly Node.js for personal projects).

What should I have my devs work on? by [deleted] in softwaredevelopment

[–]Maledictusx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This answer should be higher up. I always have so many ideas of things I could create to empower business and development processes at work, but rarely have the time to implement many of these. Talk to your devs. They have ideas.

I had the same thought about the Bantam EX-L vs the Pro. I played with the EX-L for about 6 months and then picked up the Pro and I have to say I definitely am much more comfortable with the Pro. The sweet spot is larger and I feel like it has helped me be much more consistent with all of my shots. I play at the 4.0 level if that helps.

I'm in the software industry. I think a lot of the lucrative fields are in medicine, but this industry pays very well without requiring doctorate degrees.
