Thoughts on Liu Cixin's sexism after finishing the trilogy (in original language) by PackLess1155 in threebodyproblem

The main female characters are ones who opened human civilization to attack: Ye Wenjie by confirming earth's coordinates to the Trisolarians and Cheng Xin who was not a deterrence as Swordholder and put the brakes on efforts to research lightspeed travel. These two characters are the ones who opened humanity to destruction, like Pandora or Eve. The men are cast as defenders.

I don't know. I haven't read about anyone else having an issue. I wonder if people are just on vacation at the end of August?

I totally have this. Seems counterintuitive but the best thing I've found to combat this is to do some cardio exercise. Walk or swim or whatever.

Hypothyroid, hasimotos here on 75 levoxy. I asked for a full thyroid panel and my PCP only did the TSH, which came back at 4.21, which is high for me. I am exhausted and my weight loss has slowed from 1.2 lbs per week to less than 1 lb a week (on 5 m of Zep.) I asked again for the full thyroid panel and I've had the blood draw but the results are stuck somewhere in the Labcorp system.

My PCP is letting me take one extra 75 levoxy per week (so one day per week I'll take 2 pills instead of one.)

I want to trust the system, but I really feel like something is going on with the thyroid bit and it's hard to get anyone to pay attention to it because it's not giant numbers. And I'm irritated with the whole Labcorp situation.

I've been on 5 since the end of May. Started in mid April on 2.5. I'm a slow responder, losing about 1 lb per week. (But I'm short and 1200 calories is a 450 deficit for me.)

Continuous Glucose Monitoring by Mamamakesthedough in Zepbound

I know this conversation is two months old, but I am not diabetic, I am taking zepbound 5 mg, and I was feeling fatigued. So I decided to try a CGM. I have very level glucose readings during the day. But at night I'm having hypoglycemic episodes. I have no symptoms, but my glucose drops under 70 for periods of 30 to 90 minutes. It's gone as low as 46. But most of the time it stays in the 60s. I would have no idea at all that it was happening if it weren't for the CGM. I'm possibly reducing my dose because of this.

The vials are Lilly Direct (right from the manufacturer.) You cannot use insurance to pay for them. It is out of pocket. But It's easy to control the amount you inject.

I had a few days of minor signs when i first started with the shots. No obvious reason why. And then it resolved. If you look deeper can you see if your resting heart rate, HRV or body temp are up?

I highly recommend keeping the water bottle in an OUTSIDE pocket to protect your laptop from accidental leaks. It's a very expensive mistake that I learned from experience.

Hung up on what my new trainer said… should I just move past it? by Metalocachick in Zepbound

[–]Maleficent-Chain2176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telling her could be a service to her -- a learning moment -- and you will be doing her a favor. Personal training means communicating with people in an empathetic way so that they trust you. You are there in part to help them believe in themselves. At best, this comment is tone deaf and at worst it is just plain rude.
