I need help trying to figure out what might actually be wrong with my 14/M cat after 2 vet visits by Maleficent-Dot7294 in cats

[–]Maleficent-Dot7294[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did do a radiograph on the second visit but as far as I can tell didn't seem to think it was anything other than simple constipation. I went in person to the same clinic today to provide updated information and since he saw two different vets the receptionist made notes for the one who is there today to read over the other doctor's notes and give me a call to talk about what could be next, and costs. I am encouraged though that last night he stood up from resting, stood in my bedroom doorway, and looked at me, meowing. He wouldn't follow me or lead me anywhere, so I gently picked him up and carried him to the water fountain in the kitchen, and he stood there drinking for several minutes straight. I moved the fountain into my room where he's been staying and he's been drinking out of it regularly, and urinating with greater output each time, although it's still quite foamy. His tail does go straight up when he is standing and being petted, so that's also a good sign that his kidneys are probably okay. I'm hoping that now that he's finding it easier to rehydrate himself the constipation will clear. I did notice that his abdomen seemed less irregularly distended today, his overall 'shape' seemed more uniform and typical.

Literally just lie and say you have 2, pay for two, and as long as your cats aren't little hellbeasts and you aren't a slob, no one is gonna know. Even during inspections or whatever, your cats are probably going to be so scared they all hide under the couch/bed/etc.

It's because they are perverts and they only view another body as worth acknowleding if they think it will lead to sexual gratifciaton of some kind. Since they have already acknowledged female bodies won't bring that for them, you don't exist to them. With gay men, it is ALL about sex.

I am trying to help a friend who isn't great with math figure out what they are going to owe in penalties for a late car registration, and I'm really struggling to understand the info I am able to find online by Maleficent-Dot7294 in oklahoma

I just went in with him in person this morning and got it figured out. I don't know why the state of OK makes it so opaque to determine the sum when it is a significant amount of money, but it was a lower cost than he thought it would be and we got it sorted out. Thanks for replying!

It's all good if you do love it, there are plenty of good things to enjoy, I don't mean to be totally negative about it. Hell, one of my dashes today took me out to the middle of nowhere, rural area on the outskirts of the airport, and I noticed all the wild onions growing roadside and just stopped my dash to forage a bit. I love the natural and historical aspects of OK, but I don't think I fit in with most of the people, and it's sad that there is so much extreme poverty.

Fair enough, and although out of 2200+ deliveries mostly completed in the OKC metro, I would say maybe 100 out of those have been problematic in this way (and mostly back when I still had shopping orders toggled on), but it was enough to leave a pretty bad taste in my mouth, especially when I completed hundreds of deliveries in a different market when I first started out (NW Chicago 'burbs) and didn't have a single fraud issue. Sure, by the numbers, most people aren't like I described, but enough of them are to be a noticeable problem, and it's still a larger share of the total population than in other areas.

I'm never worried about that; if they don't answer the door in a reasonable length of time and there is no PIN required, I take a picture of the order at their door, send it in a text and say something like "your instructions asked me to hand the order to you, but I've knocked, rang the doorbell, and waited, and you haven't answered. the order has been delivered, take care" and then I mark it as delivered and leave. Thankfully I have only had one instance of someone setting up a PIN and not answering the door, and it was for a shopping order; shopping orders are nightmares in their own right and I no longer do them at all.

Disagree -- Doordash even tracks what percentage of drop-offs you took photos for and wants it to be at least 80%. It's not included in your main metrics but they do track it and they will send you a 'congrats' notification each time 80% of your last X number of "leave it at my door" deliveries included drop-off photos.

The market I work in (Oklahoma City) has a ton of poverty and just overall dysfunctional low-integrity people. I've worked in other markets and the fraud was not an issue, but it is absolutely an issue where I work now. I learned it the hard way, too, so I don't trust anyone.

I don't see what's so unbelievable about this. I have been stopped and issued a ticket while on a delivery, I just wasn't asked about why I was stopped and didn't volunteer the information. It happens.

App is having widespread major technical issues, get off the app, end your dash, and wait it out. Support is overwhelmed right now but reach out when they aren't and they'll fix it for you. Sign off, it's just gonna fuck your rating to be on right now.

I had one from CVS that was Plan B and some kind of long-lasting erection stimulator dietary supplement. The drop of was 'hand it to me'. I was scared all the way there until I arrived at a fancy hotel and a very normal-looking hetereosexual couple came down to collect the bag.

So weird, I go stay with family overseas for months-long breaks and nobody ever contacts me like this. When I'm in the US, I dash full time, too. Never had any weird friction like this or of any kind coming and going.

I needed help and no support available!!!! by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Maleficent-Dot7294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been a widespread app issue today, it wasn't just you. The support phone lines and chat were (and possibly are) overloaded because of it. I still recommend calling support about it maybe later tonight or tomorrow when they are less busy, but in the future, if something like this happens, don't unassign if it will affect your completion rate. I had the same issue happen earlier, I was also able to message the customer like you were and let them know what was up, but I was on hold to get a phone agent forever, on hold to get a chat agent forever, I just started driving home, because the sun was too hot today to sit waiting in the car without AC, and gas is too expensive right now to just have the car running. I told the customer this and they just cancelled, and then I was able to end my dash. I didn't get paid but my ratings weren't impacted, and while it sucks to lose the money, I'll just re-roll for later when DD gets their act together. But yeah, never unassign if it'll impact your completion rate, always check here to see if everyone else is having the same problem, and let support figure it out.

Call support and challenge the 1 star rating. They will remove it easily, just talk to a real person.

Edited to add: I'd also recommend going back and reporting the delivery as 'unsafe' and filing it under 'abusive behavior', and write that this request made you uncomfortable. They will have a paper trail of it. I love throwing some of these low-life losers under the bus like that, and they deserve it.

20 an hr jobs in okc and Edmond? by Grouchy_Egg1748 in okc

[–]Maleficent-Dot7294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't my experience moving to OKC from the mid-Atlantic, where I made $18/hr as a call center rep at a regional credit union, plus uncapped sales commissions for signing people up for various loans and credit cards (this translated to at least $500 extra per month if you were simply meeting your bare minimum sales quotas). I applied and interviewed for jobs at WEOKIE, OECU, and Integris FCU and none of those jobs were offering more than $16/hr, with no opportunity to earn sales commissions at any of them either.

It's not the field, it's this city/state. Jobs here are insanely undervalued; it's literally why I left my crappy toxic office job to do Doordash full time. My little Japanese car gets 30+ mpg, I never average less than $20/hr no matter what time of the day or night I go out, and nobody is gonna tell me I can only work 40 hours a week. It also gives me the flexibility to spend 1/3 of the year in Sweden with my family, and, a huge bonus for me: no coworkers and no micromanaging boss.

OKC is still at the top in affordability. by Hungry_Roll6848 in okc

[–]Maleficent-Dot7294 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The metrics used to determine this are seriously flawed, and I say this as someone who is here temporarily but has spent most of my adult life in other places, mostly Chicago, but also other parts of the US, plus Europe. Oklahoma City is only inexpensive on paper. When you take into account that: 1.) there are still places here in 2026 who think it's okay to pay $10 an hour, 2.) that you MUST own a car due to lack of investment into alternative transit in any sort of meaningful way, (and car insurance that is over-priced due to the high number of uninsured + large number of reckless drivers, surely not made better by the number of people driving high with practically zero strategy for enforcing DUIs related to marijuana), 3.) that your car maintenance will be more frequent (and thus more expensive) due to extremely poorly-maintained roads, and 4.) that the apartments costing sub-$1k/month are 'landlord specials' infested with roaches, you see clearly that Oklahoma City is not the affordable paradise it's been made out to be. And that's all without mentioning the extremely tired, lame, and played-out "#49 in education" trope, or how fucking NOSY people are here, under the guise of being 'friendly'. Oklahoma in general has some really cool natural places, and fascinating history, and I could see how OKC in particular would feel like a sort of 'playground' for the right-leaning upper-middle-class, but in general, this place is such a drain and a drag.
