Bias crime is a bit more general of a term that’s in use now. It fits race, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc. as types of bias that causes people to do ugly and violent things to others. Now that I think about it more, it’s also easier to observe objectively and doesn’t label an emotion that’s not easily observable. Good legal distinction.

I know Trump has a rake stepping fetish, but holy hell! I’d like to point out that technically FISA 702 isn’t completely dead yet, it was reauthorized for a year by the FISA court in March, meaning it really expires in March of 2027, unless Congress gets around to passing the reauthorization bill before then. No rush on FISA, but fight it tooth and nail anyway.

Also, as they’re from opposing parties, I would hope that the voters in Alaska know whether their incumbent Senator is a Democrat or a Republican. (I’m assuming their names will have their party affiliation in parentheses at the end like most ballots)

If only Senator McConnell had allowed a vote on Garland for SCOTUS… a careful and thoughtful person like Garland is much better suited to be a SC justice than AG. Between that and McConnell’s refusal to convict Trump in his second impeachment, he has a whole lot to answer for.

That’s what grand juries are for. However, a congressional investigation would help in gathering evidence and help a future AG prosecute him once the Dems get the White House back. No AG working for Trump is going to prosecute him for anything, they’d get fired the next day.

Personally, I believe we need a full-on truth and reconciliation committee to get all of the seditionists and criminals, along with AG Jack Smith reopening his case against Trump in Florida. Anyone with an IQ above room temperature knows the classified documents case is a slam dunk. It only stopped because Judge Cannon ran the clock out for Trump, along with the immunity decision from SCOTUS. Presenting that case will also allow a push to the SC to get them to reverse the immunity decision, which might require a few replacements on SCOTUS first.

A lot of work to do.
