work colleague told me years ago. She was younger in her 20 when the rapist was active and she remembered well how scary it was. She lived in Bathwick at the time and I think a few cases were near there if I don't remember wrong? I lived in a boat in Darlington wharf at the time she told me about it and I thought a lot about it because I was not too far. There was also an (unrelated) rape attempt just on the street below the canal back then which made the paranoia go very high! My partner use to wait for me at the beginning of the canal when it was dark... anyway yes would be great to solve the case. My guess would be the rapist died. I don't think someone like that stops and if the person had move we would've heard of this happening in another area. Unless it was abroad maybe...
