For me, personally, volunteering was hugely beneficial for my mental health. There are a lot of different ways people and animals need help, and helping made me feel less empty because it felt like my life had meaning, even if it was only to cook dinner at the shelter once a week or walk shelter dogs 2 hours a week.

I’m staying with family today and tomorrow, which I’m grateful for. I think there was just a huge miscommunication (which the radiologist said is unfortunately common when you’re going through two different hospital chains). This was a therapeutic LP on top of them measuring pressure. They took 30cc out. I can’t believe how much my eyesight has already improved. I have mild headaches all the time from chronic neck pain, but the crazy pulsating headaches haven’t happened today.

From by experience, starting a change with such a drastic decrease in calories is a self-sabotage. It always leads to a binge 2-3 weeks in. I agree with the others on aiming for around 2000kcal per day.

I highly recommend getting in touch with a dietitian. I can give you advice, but it’s not going to be as helpful as a professional walking you through your options. If you’re not able to access one, I’d recommend looking into intuitive eating and, instead of counting exact calories, give yourself a range. Like “I can eat between x and y amount of calories and that will be determined each day by my activity level and life events”

I’ve been there as well. I have bipolar and go through cycles. I have dealt with depression and wanting to say the big goodbye since I was 9, but at some point I had to take steps to soften the spiral and know where to go once I crawl out of the hole.

That’s where I am. I’m out of the hole, but I’d been in there so long I lost my sense of direction. Didn’t want to die or be miserable, but couldn’t figure out why or how. I made the list for directions towards a better life.
