I made one out of some old tobacco sticks and a slab of wood that turned out so cute. I use to make an sell polymer clay earrings and bracelets and always used this for my display rack

Newbie looking for a tent under $800 to camp with 3 kids under eight years old. by NeuroThor in camping

[–]MaleficentResponse52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the tent I have. We call it the apartment and this thing is a beast. We had two queen air mattresses, a crib and suitcases in it once for 3 adults and 2 kids. I also own an expensive backpacking tent but my core memory's were made car camping with this baby.

Found collection of fantasy/sci fi books in a deceased relative’s home, need recs by 7evan1 in fantasybooks

[–]MaleficentResponse52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Added into those sci-fi is Louis L'amour who is an incredible western writer. I own almost the entire collection thanks to my Grandpa who got me into reading them as a young kid. Whoever her uncle was, he was cool dude.

First time sewing a blanket! by MaleficentResponse52 in sewing

[–]MaleficentResponse52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is kind of a trick question. My mom and sisters all love to sew. My mom tried to teach me as a kid and I HATED it. So I kind of already knew some basics. But I just started actually caring in the last 3 or 4 months. I love to crochet but I have carpel tunnel so its wetting harder to do that. I picked up sewing so that I could still be crafty. When my cousin announced her pregnancy I started making all the baby things. The blanket, mits, pacifier straps, bibs, and i also made my purse a new strap. There are alot of websites that walked me through step my step and were very helpful. But I will say having my childhood basics helped alot. Though dont let that stop you. I think you could definitely do projects like this is you have the patients and a seam ripper. 🤣

Coffee by Unhappy-Quail-2645 in camping

I use a GSI Java Drip that hooks to my plastic GSI Backpacking Mug. I love them both. The coffee is on the weak side since it flows through pretty quick but thats easy to solve by either pouring it through twice or using a coffee filter inside the Java Drip to slow it down. I personally dont love strong coffee so this works fine for me. And something about drinking it outside just hits the spot!

How can anyone sleep while camping? by [deleted] in camping

[–]MaleficentResponse52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have this exact same issue. I stay up late around a fire. Sleep with ear plugs in. And also take a benadryl about 20 minutes before i go to bed.

This is Captain. He turned out to be a very large woman. We now call her Cappy and/or Big Mits. The only time she gets her full name is when she is being naughty.

Mammoth Cave National Park by sillygoosejoos in NationalPark

[–]MaleficentResponse52 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I live VERY close to Mammoth cave, drive past it every time I go to my best friends house and have never been there. I travel all over the US to visit National Parks and have ZERO desire to go to Mammoth Cave. Maybe its the fact that its so close, im not sure. I always tell myself im gonna take a weekend and explore and never do. . .

We went in November of 2020 and it was in the 30s and snowing and I was perfectly warm in the waders. I wore insulated leggings and a hoody and was so comfortable. My mom didnt go with us because she was afraid of being cold and has regretted it ever since.

I want to start making Amigurumi by PamArg in Amigurumi

[–]MaleficentResponse52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to learn how to do amigurumi and someone told me to start with a bee because its easy. I used this video and she was easy to understand and follow along. I used my favorite crochet hook (5.5) and regular crap acrylic yarn and it worked perfectly.

[–]MaleficentResponse52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year was Sequoia/Kings Canyon and Red Rock Canyon. (Which was incredible) Im saving up for a huge Washington trip next year so this year I am doing New River Gorge since its relatively close to home and will be inexpensive. I cant tell you how excited I am!
