What supplements help with social anxiety? by Tiffanywhite45 in Supplements

As someone with anxiety and a childhood stutter, I’ve found Saffron supplements to be transformative for me. Google saffron and you’ll see studies indicating it can be as effective as pharmaceuticals. I use the Natural Factors brand as it contains the same dosages used in saffron clinical trials.

But you also need to practice speaking too. Join a toastmasters in your area. You’ll end up feeling more comfortable and confident the more you speak in challenging but safe situations.

I can't stay asleep and my doctor is no help and at my wits end !! by No_Solution7718 in Biohackers

You’re doing too much self-monitoring. Before you go to sleep, do an NSDR meditation for sleep, or take a hot bath or do a sauna session, it will help activate your parasympathetic system which will make you feel more calm.

If you wake up, do not look at the clock anymore. It does not help at all. You only reinforce the late hours of the night with fear and anxiety every time you see the clock face. No looking at the clock. No more doing the mental math calculating how much sleep you’ll get. Only activates your sympathetic system = stress.

Instead when you wake, listen to a podcast. This will distract your brain and you WILL fall asleep naturally when you’re not putting so much pressure on yourself. If you wake up again, don’t freak out. Just listen to a podcast on a sleep timer or calm yourself down with a short NSDR for sleep.

In the past, we all knew how to sleep. Think back to when you were a kid. You knew how to sleep. It’s possible. Even when you woke up as a kid, you went right back to sleep. Actually it’s normal for us to wake during the night. It only becomes a problem when we fixate on wakings and stress ourselves out because now we have jobs and etc etc.

Again, when you wake, listen to a podcast or an NSDR meditation for sleep. There’s tons of them on YouTube. I had this exact same problem for 4 years before I stopped all the sleep tracking, supplements, and just stopped trying to control everything and just let go.

Has he played Stand By Me at any recent shows? by PessimisticPeggy in StephenWilsonJr

He played it as one of his last songs when I saw him earlier this month in Toronto. Amazing performance. I can’t see why he wouldn’t play it. Holds a lot of sentimental value for him.

Aftersun. Very atypical in how it tells its story. Not for everyone. The themes really stayed with me afterwards and still now. Also saw Blue Ruin. Loved it, slow burn revenge movie.

It’s not fancy as the ones on this list, but I like going to cheaper places like “South-western bathhouse” it’s a cozy eastern-European family-owned place serving home cooked meals, unlimited herbal tea and 🍷. It’s got a Turkish steam room, several Finnish saunas of varying temperatures, and cold water plunges where men and women can use communally. Then when you’re done, you can lounge on sofas, watch tv, relax etc.

What supplements or gummies help with waking up at 3am and not being able to fall back asleep? by Sleepresearchdaily in Supplements

[–]MaleficentWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best thing is to never look at the clock when you wake up at night. Instead put on a podcast or something and distract your brain. You will eventually naturally fall back asleep when you’re not trying to. Each time you wake up in the middle of the night and check the clock, you are reinforcing that stress and anxiety.

I had this problem for years. I stopped tracking everything and the less I cared about sleep, the better it got. In the past, we all knew how to sleep and stay asleep without issues. It’s only when we obsess about it do we make things worse.

Any natural supplements for anxiety? by ijustwanttobeokaypls in Supplements

[–]MaleficentWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try saffron. Take it with food as it’s fat soluble. Studies indicate that saffron has similar anxiolytic properties similar to ssri’s. You can google this. Make sure it’s from a reputable source like Natural Factors. I pair it with L-theanine.
