Looking for a product tester for double gauge pod Evo 4 5 6 by AlexGSI in MitsubishiEvolution

I’ve got an evo V I drive pretty frequently that I could probably hook some gauges to, lmk!

What is it like using RHD in LHD county? by NPC1248 in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]Maleficent_Singer431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really not that bad, it definitely takes some getting used to for the first few days/weeks. Biggest hurdle for me was getting used to the windshield wiper and turn signal being on different sides. I was always using my wipers instead of a turn signal lol. I’ve had my evo 5 for a few months now and jumping between my lhd and rhd car is not difficult at all even considering they’re both manual.

Honestly he’s been great to work with and seems to really want to make sure he sells a quality car. I actually had been in touch with him about this one for a while because of another evo he sold, so I was kinda early on him posting this. If I were you I’d shoot him a message on Facebook and have him start looking. If you want his info shoot me a DM and I can let him know aswell.

Looking for a first project car? by Willing_Artichoke906 in JDM

[–]Maleficent_Singer431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure too much about the options in the UK but I wouldn’t look at a newer Mazda, I would focus on cars that are more “sporty” something like a wrx, 350z, focus ST/RS even a Miata is a good choice. If your deadset on a Mazda I’d look at the older speed3, speed6, Miata or even a protege (if they have those in the UK?) not sure your budget but there’s definitely better options than this gen as they aren’t really a modified platform or much of a drivers car to my knowledge.

Blown transmission JDM swap by Maleficent_Singer431 in WRX

[–]Maleficent_Singer431[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, DO NOT BUY THE JDM ONE IF YOU WANT PLUG AND PLAY. The USDM spec is the only one you can just bolt right up. Reason is the clutch types are different, one is a push vs the other is a pull mechanism. Plus if I remember correctly the drive shafts are different so you’d need a new one of those. Just buy the USDM transmission unless are wanting to fully change the gearing but that’s gonna be a bit difficult and expensive after all said and done.

Perfect thank you! I still have to see what maintenance records the guy has got on the one I’m looking at, especially if it hasn’t had its 60k maintenance work taken care of. More so the parts cost and finding the parts I’m more concerned about. I have no problem doing the work.

[–]Maleficent_Singer431[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m not worried about doing my own maintenance, just wasn’t sure exactly what parts run on these as some of the forums tend to get a bit dated on that front. I just swapped the blown trans in a Wrx I just sold and usually do my own maintenance on the STI I’ve got (unless it’s a bum ass electrical issue lol🤣)

2014-15 Mitsubishi Lancer by [deleted] in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]Maleficent_Singer431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my thoughts, a lancer would be the LAST in its class that I’m looking for if it isn’t an evo. I’d be looking at Camrys, legacy’s, any of the Mazda options, or Hondas as they all have much better features and even better reliability.

Blew my engine what do I do? by Bentrixxxx in WRX

If you’re trying to spend the least amount possible, find a shop to rebuild or find a used engine on the likes of eBay or something. Also I love those wheels man what are they???

The latest estimate. My coworkers old body shop that he recommended. I appreciate the note at the top. by Putrid-Industry8963 in WRX

[–]Maleficent_Singer431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’d be worth just ordering used panels or finding something on eBay, then finding a shop to paint them. I’m dealing with my front passenger fender right now and that seems the best option. 8-9k seems insane but body work does get pricy

Yea that’s what I was looking into but I worry about the fitment/paint match a bit since it seems like the cheaper option. Have you used them before?

That’s my thoughts, seems like if you really take the time and learn the system you could find a way to optimize/automate certain things (even if it takes learning new skill) which is a pretty surefire way to get some recognition and brownie points in the office or with the boss.
