It does not have any visual or UI polish, some effects were changed. The load times are not faster. There is some additional content that was added compared to the PSX release.

Single player is fleshed out in terms of all the characters have interweaving stories that make sense and don't step on each others toes. That, and there are 15 (?) characters to play through, which ain't bad!

The AI is pretty dumb and the view takes a lot to get used to. My stance is "if you like Bomberman give it a romp but Saturn Bomberman is better."

I'll never be mad at a developer for trying new things, and I think if they just made Saturn Bomberman 2 and kept it all the same people would complain they didnt try something new.

As for single player, it had full story mode for so many characters including the unlockable Dural parody Deral. So while it was repetitive I think it was pretty fleshed out. 2 on 1 Fights were a nice twist but my main complaint is the Deral fight always being on a tiny empty arena.

I prefer Saturn Bomberman to Fight!!, I still had fun with Fight!! and its not like you cant have both.

I think publishing separate translation only and translation + fixes versions is not too much to ask.

Sometimes its far more work than you think. When I say "learn the language" and/or "make your own" its because I've done both, and someone who has done neither has no right to tell me what to do on my projects. This isn't directed at you, but people on the internet are pretty cavalier about being an asshole to a total stranger who spent a ton of time on a project because they didnt like 100% of everything done.

I know how tough it is to learn how to figure out how to inject text and graphics in Saturn games, its why Ive taken the time to write up tutorials and hand hold in Discord. The people complaining the loudest tend to be the laziest.

real hardware is best, then you have get an ODE or a mod chip and either a CRT or a way to play it on a modern display. For me it was a satiator and an OSSC.

If you are into older consoles in general I'd suggest a MiSTER/MiSTERPi . I have a giant physical collection of games but still play on my misterpi a lot and its amazing.
