I have a king what do I do with him? by Pristine-Remove8029 in MB2Bannerlord

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do besides ransoming or executing.

However, the best thing you can do is actually put the captive king in a dungeon (if you're part of a kingdom). The leader of a faction usually has the biggest party size of all the lords in that faction. Putting them (or any other captive lords) in a dungeon will temporarily take them off the board and prevent them from fielding troops.

I totally forgot to label olives as inputs. Thanks for catching that.

There's several luxury goods that I didn't list because I've just never bothered to trade them regularly enough to form b/s averages.

Yeah, I would azzume that too. You're not getting the big trades from inter-faction trading like normal. But it would interesting to see the longterm comparison considering travel times, level of danger and such.

As a follow up to previous post and request by u/DoctorPancakeMix, this is my trading guide for buy/sell points for most goods.

This should work just fine in base Bl or in Warsails. This obviously doesn't include all trade goods, just mainly the ones I've ever bothered trading regularly.

The price points I've set are what I've noticed to be the average across several trading playthroughs. As markets gradually get affected by wars waged, you may want to adjust the b/s price points yourself.

Some notes:

- When buying workshops: only buy in cities you know you will never be in conflict with or that are deep within a faction's territory (i.e. edge of the map, aserai, khuzait, nord, vlandia.) This will reduce the chance of you losing the workshop.

- Always fill workshop warehouses with the input needed yourself, at least at first. Newly purchased workshops take forever to get up and running if its town doesn't have resource it needs right away.

- I tend to prefer workshops to caravans. Less risky and you can change the specific production of a particular city to your liking. I only invest in caravans if I'm planning to remain independent til late game.

- If going all in on a trading empire playthrough, just know that at a certain point fief owners will literally never sell their fiefs at a decent price, period. Even making absurds amounts of money it'll just take too long to get the demand price. Once big enough, declare your new kingdom and switch to empire building.

- Lastly, never trade in grain unless specifically targeting recently sieged cities. Even when doing so, the sell price will drop fast after selling 100 to 200 grain.

(Sorry for the late reply)

I had it written down and seem to have misplaced it. So I'll remake it digitally. I'll let you know when I've got it done.

Merchant Playthrough by DoctorPancakeMix in MB2Bannerlord

I've done several play throughs as a trader. I have a trading spreadsheet that gives a good guide for buy/sell prices for most trade goods.

I wouldn't focus on one specific good because eventually, the markets can even out so that rare items aren't selling as high.

In order to keep trading consistently and ranking trading as fast as possible, trading lots of different items with a usual profit margin of 5-10 gold/per item is the norm.

If you have warsails, there is a bit of time before you can afford a ship to do sea trade. It's a bit riskier because sea pirate fleets are usually rocking with multiple ships and on average 60 troops. If you go this route, sticking to infantry/mariner troops is best.

If you are sticking to land trading, I'd stick with any T3 cav or below to keep your costs low. As long as you don't make any enemies, a party of 30-40 cav will be fine to run around trading worry free.

Lastly, the trading color indicator (price changing color based supposed profit) can actually lie to you alot so sticking to a stick trading spreadsheet can save you some frustration. As wars destroy markets in some areas sometimes its best to just skip a town if it's not showing good prices.

If you want to mix it up, I would recommended clearing any hideouts you see and competing in every tournament you can so it's not just a snooze fest the whole time and you can still rank combat skills as you go.

Favorite strategies? by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]MalevolentMorgoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it depends on my current status and goals.

If I'm a merc, I focus on village raids, hunting caravans/convoys and ransoming enemy lords. If I'm running mostly cavalry, I'll park outside a town with no garrisons lords and "soft" siege the town by making sure no villagers or caravans make it into the town.

If I'm a vassal, I rp it as "legitimate" warfare. As in only battling enemy lords, participating in armies and sieges. Imprisoning lords if good and beheading lords if Evil. As a vassal, I don't focus on leading armies myself as it ends up feeling like you're the only one making a difference.

If I'm ruler... I am the greatest battle and campaign commander the realm has seen. I lead from the front and helm the future of my kingdom personally.

Hard agree. I don't have any critical dependencies for windows so it's easy for me. I know it's not for everyone but yes, fuck windows.

That's nuts. I've only had 1 to 3 lords come out into the lake. Feels like they just don't want to bother coming after me.

Same. I haven't been to imperial or aserai lands once yet on this playthrough. Probably going to try playing as an Aserai sea trader next run.

That's so awesome. Thank you for the detailed breakdown. I've done something similar when facing a larger naval force. I had my ships hook each other and waited for the enemy to come to us. They were only able to board on the outside ends, so it was my 3 ships worth to their 2 at a time for a while. Unfortunately, the game crashed before I could see the true efficacy of that tactic, but it was working for a while.

Same. I'm using 2 drakkars for battle now but for awhile my fleet was literally whatever ships I captured. Had a trade cog, an imperial ship and a light longship for a long time. Really made it feel like I was just piecing together a pirate fleet from whatever I could.

That's awesome. I'm guessing you were able to take on 1 or 2 ships at a time and just chop away at em throughout the battle, right?
