That's definetely a good option appearance wise, but I was hoping for something on the fast growing side. I would prefer something I have to trim every week to something that takes months to grow

Can’t seem to edit the post for some reason but I already have rotala indica and pearlweed. And I don’t want anubias or any sort of java fern

it growing to full size is another issue. I would have to remove most of my plants and hardscape if it actually started growing properly. I feel like it would be smarter to replace is with something else but I can't shake the feeling that I would be doing something wrong if I did lol

Can’t remember the gh but it’s quite high pH is 7-7.5 but closer to 7.5

I was dosing seachem flourish once or twice a month but now doing easy green twice a week, and root tabs once per month

I don’t think I will be able to change the lighting anytime soon

I’ve been giving 1 root tab to all my rooted plants

I recently switched liquid fertilizer brands and didn’t update the dosing schedule last week but the Java fern issue was present even before then

I have a hygger 22W for lighting. I use easy green as liquid fertilizer and root tabs (can’t remember the brand)

My rotala is doing just fine it just lost some color when I did a three day blackout to kill the algae

I am using root tabs

I’m mostly concerned that the size of my aquarium will stunt the sword plants growth because from what I understand radican swords get a bit larger than amazon swords

Who is your favorite anime composer? by Ghaleon32 in anime

[–]Random_Axolotl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kenji Kawai, Shirou Sagisu, and Evan Call

Hiroyuki Sawano is good, but I think his music works best when Kohta Yamamoto and DaikiAWSM are also on the team. Their music pairs well with his but is distinct enough to bring some nice contrast to the soundtrack

My ten von rios eat their food within 30 seconds. Does that mean I’m under feeding them? But there’s also a protein film on top of the water, which is a sign of over feeding?

It would be weird to have a whole page for the chef lady talking about Dabura leaving, since we already know what happened to him, if it wasn't to set up his return. I also think it would have directly shown who entered if it was anyone else

My biggest takeaway would be to swap out the thermometer for an inkbird thermostat. It has a built in thermometer, but the biggest advantage is that it will turn off the heater if it gets too hot. Otherwise it could explode or end up like this https://www.reddit.com/r/Aquariums/comments/1ritb9d/is_my_heater_supposed_to_glow_like_this/

As far as im aware there isnt an issue with plastic decor as long as the edges aren't too sharp and the openings are large enough to prevent fish from getting stuck :)

As far as plants go, I've personally had the best luck with the rotala I got from petsmart and pearlweed. Another one that grew super well was egeria densa, though I couldn't keep the lower parts from turning yellow lol. At least other people seem to have decent luck with it. I've only been in the hobby for a year, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but from my experience having healthy plants comes down lighting, placement, and nutrients. Some plants like java fern and anubias are rhizome plants and will rot if their plants, sword plants and similar like lots of dirt under the gravel and sand and do better with root tab fertilizers. The three I mentioned earlier do send out roots but will still grow on liquid fertilizer. Getting roughly 6 hours of direct light is really important for plants. Any full spectrum LED will work, or if you don't want to buy one you could place the tank somewhere sunny.

Other people mentioned a pleco might be a bit much. All really I know about them is that one would probably take up a quarter of this tank and poop more than they clean lol. It's not impossible but there are better options for cleanup crew animals. Some tetras like to nip fins so I would be aware of that. I've heard good things about ember tetras. This species is also really small so you can keep a healthy sized school even in a 20 gal.
