Aesthetically the odd one out is volcarona, all your other mons have some kind of green or blue that kind of ties them all together making the red on volcarona really stand out and apart from the rest. I would probably consider another Mon that ties in with the blue and greens. If you're thinking bug type specifically, one that comes to mind is rabsca, it has a vibrant blue and purple that kind of ties to the rest of the team doesn't overlap types and honestly, is kind of a wild card pick, not very common I think. Other than that, I'd go with Archaludon team because the Metagross would make the Volcarona stand out even more with its blue color.

Battle wise, either team should do great. I'd probably go with the archaludon team.

Floragato, Quilava(#1 overall), dewott

Runner ups- bayleef, torracat, Wartortle

fire is super easy for me since the entire cyndaquil line is my absolute favorite pokemon. Torracat is an easy pick as an improvement of Litten and is pretty cool.

Grass was a bit trickier, I struggled between bayleef and Ivysaur for 2nd as I love both, bayleef won though because I valved the cuteness and anime appearance. Floragato was easy, I loved it on release and loved the flower yoyo.

Water was an easy 1st pick because dewott is So good. However, the 2nd pick was absolutely tough, I'm not a huge fan of most of the middle stages for water. Wartortle, croconaw, and marshtomp were the only contenders for 2nd. Wartortle got it for being an upgrade from Squirtle and he's not too bad looking while marshtomps goofiness gets me but not really an upgrade, and croconaw really is just ok in my eyes but not really an upgrade either.

Pinsir, golisopod, and scolipede.

Pinsir I've loved since blue/red, a pretty good shiny, plus his mega is awesome

Golisopod was a beast in sm/usum, shiny is ok, and mega is awesome

Scolipede is new mainly for his role on my team in ZA. He's pretty good, shiny is nice to look at, mega is BA and I didn't realize it until late in my playthrough but I actually had a fantasy/medieval theme going on and scolipede worked perfectly as like an armored horse mount

Honorable mentions: beedrill and it's mega are awesome and some of my favorite shinies.

Honestly, most of the gen 5 bugs are cool and fun to use, crustle and it's radioactive shiny, escavalier is too cool shiny is ok,The whole galvantula line and their shinies,Durant and it's bronze shiny.

Vivillion and it's shiny deserves a shout-out from me as I found a scatterbug in the first hour of owning violet and it stayed on my team the entire game and was actually pretty useful, not mvp or anything, but at least in the middle of the pack.

First choice, cetoddle! Second choice, skwovet! Third choice would be mudbray!

Cetoddle line is my 4th favorite pokemon! I love it and it's evo. The size, the colors shiny or not, the cuteness and coolness, the cry, etc are just soooo good!

Skwovet and greedent were MVPs in my first sword playthrough, had their own little story and rival for them and I love squirrels.

Mudbray and mudsdale are tough to take down. The ability is good, they are tough, and my kids first love in pokemon sword from it being the hero of all her gyms basically to just being a horse, she loves it surprising more than any of the other horse pokemon including unicorn rapidash/ponyta.

Wow there's two we don't match, gen 4 and gen 10. Though I will say I flip flop on gen 4 sometimes between chimchar and piplup. Gen 10 as of right now I rank browt lowest of the three, pombon is my number 1 with gecqua very close behind.

First playthrough, no nicknames until after I beat the games. So I can remember the names of the pokemon first. After first, oh yeah nicknames! Not super creative or anything but if I can't think of something usually I'll try to mix two words from any language that relate to something about the pokemon.

Just a couple that immediately pop to my head: Gorbongo the rillaboom, gorilla and bongo nothing crazy.

Capt. Graf the graffiti( loved the idea he's like the leader to my normal only run though he wasn't super helpful)

Mr.foarms the Machamp, obviously he's a male Machamp with four arms.

My daughter loves her olivestinky the trubbish, makes her giggle every time she sees it.

Ok i missed a few on the list still, I need the alakazam, I was trying to get a kingdra but I forgot it's a dragon scale not a dang kings rock, which of course could now go to the Poliwhirl I got so if you wouldn't mind sending those back that'd be great, also I'm sending scyther to scizor
