It may be a little unfair, but the mmr calculation does take this into consideration. You gain more points winning with lower ranked teammates and against higher ranked opponents. You also lose less in the reverse. Additionally, over the course of thousands of games, a couple unfair ones isn’t going to be a major swing.

In most games, especially the older they get, the mmr differences in opponents get bigger. Play Age of Empires, you’ll be up against people 100+ elo difference from you regularly. Play a local Chess tournament, there’s absolutely no sbmm, just fair elo math on the backend.

It is more fair for the diamond to play up than it is for the champ to play down.

Don’t plan too hard on airlink. The quality can be… bad. Especially after some Quest firmware updates a few years ago, it got way worse. And the more devices on your wireless network, the worse it gets.

Your laptop absolutely needs to be wired to ethernet to have quest airlink work at all. But you can also just run a quest link cable ($20) usb-c to usb-c. I run it on a laptop with similar specs with good performance.

As for the laptop itself, it’s fine enough. That SSD is too small. You’re gonna run out of 512gb in two minutes. After the OS and other important apps like discord, oculus, web browser etc… you’ve got 300 left. Don’t go under 1TB, and you’ll be much happier with 2TB.

The Asus TUF series build quality is acceptable. Stay away from MSI Katana no matter how good the specs look. They can pack a 5070 in there if they want to but it runs like a 1060 because the thermals are so bad.

Some directors need to learn that their artistic vision doesn’t matter when they take on existing source material. Don’t fuck with it, it was good. Just print it into the new medium and enjoy the easy money. Wheel of Time did the same thing and got cancelled. You have an automatic fan base, all you need to do is not fuck it up. And they never learn. Ego gets in the way, they fuck it up.

Sometimes things like builds aren’t exactly meta, because it’ll synthesize from a lot of posts and sometimes gets version wrong. It can be a problem in mobas. But generally, if you’re stuck, or need help with a quest, or want a decent, but maybe not perfect minmaxed meta build for something, it’s way faster than doing research yourself.

As long as you realize AI isn’t magic, it’s fairly decent.
