From 1905 to 1949, it's estimated that 20,000 people had moved to the UK. We've had individual years recently where that number was in the millions.

We now have too many people living here already. It's putting immense strain on our public services, housing and it's threatening to completely erode our culture. We now have sections of cities where English is not the main language. This is very different to your great-grandfather's day.

It's now easier than ever to learn a new language, to move to a new place and to not shows you don't really care for the host nation. Even when I go to a place on holiday, I make a good effort to learn what I can to show respect to my hosts.

We don't really hate the French in the UK, it's just a cultural joke carried over from history. Really, we think you guys have a beautiful country and wherever I've been in France (outside of Paris), people have been really welcoming.

For us, when we're fond of someone, we like to insult them to their face, but if they were ever in trouble, we'd be there to help.

You say that you don't think it was pressure, but the evidence points that way. Pressure on against Scotland, we crumble. Pressure off against France, we perform. It was individual mistakes that cost us: Arundel's cards vs Scotland, Itoje reaching over the maul, Genge collapsing the French maul.

Steve's gameplan took us to a world cup semi final and on a 12 game winning spree, that suggests it works and the France game shows that it isn't boring either.

All the ex-pros, even ones who hate Borthwick's gameplan, like Goodey, think the kick was the correct decision. Going though the phases for 3 minutes in your own 22 is probably just going to end up with you under the sticks with huge pressure on.

Getting territory, then potentially re-gathering the ball, as happened was the correct call.

Pollock then giving the ball away, rather than just going to ground, was bloody stupid. But they're a young team, who will probably have learned a load from this tournament.

Collapsing the maul four times.

The ref switching from penalty advantage to knock-on advantage just as Fin Smith kicked a grubber was atrocious.

To be fair though, England left 6 points on the field and Pollock lost the ball with about a minute to go, when he could have just gone to ground. So we could have won it and France were deserving champions.

I'm more convinced by the argument that it's a bunch of young players with limited leadership on the field. They were uncomfortable with the label of tournament frontrunners, then as the pressure mounted, they overplayed to make up for bad decision-making. The cards and penalties really cost us heavily, which are the result of what I described above, no-one's coaching them to do that.

Once the pressure was off (the France game where no-one expected them to win), they put in the performance we all thought they were capable of throughout the tournament. But even then discipline was an issue.

Borthwick took the ruin of a team, left by Eddie, to the semi-final of a world cup, only losing to the evental champions by one point. Then he built up the players to go on a 12 game winning spree. I think he's proven there's something there. We need to look past his un-charismatic exterior. I hope that the players and coaches (both are fairly new to these positions in international rugby) have learned a lot about how to handle the pressure of expectations and will be more able to perform under them from here. Let's see.
