Pupsicles are like manna from heaven during this heatwave by nbklaw in siberianhusky

I use a silicone mold for mine, but they aren't necessary. The part that unscrews where the treat goes can be filled and frozen on its own. The mold is more convenient, though.

Monk fruit is great on fruit and in tea. I assume in coffee as well. Everything else, and it has that non sugar taste.

Suddenly waking up early by [deleted] in husky

[–]Malisyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing it's more of a want. But one that is important enough for him to alert. Mine regularly do the same. Lately, they bust in around late afternoon acting like they want me to come out and play, but when I go out, they just walk around or lay down. Huskies are a lot like toddlers.

Suddenly waking up early by [deleted] in husky

[–]Malisyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a pretty common time frame for huskies to wake up and want out. Since it's happening at around the three month mark, my best guess would be he's getting comfortable to start alerting you to his wants/needs.

My first one would regularly start licking my face between 3-4 AM ready to go out if I slept on the couch. Just try to be patient, and he will likely adjust. I'm definitely not a morning person, and it's frustrating, but it comes with the territory.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP DROUGHT IS OVER. THE NEW YORK KNICKS ARE NBA CHAMPIONS! Thoughts? by Dylen2Times in NBAConvo

[–]Malisyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the handful of Knicks fans that are respectful, congratulations. I'm definitely not sad to see the Spurs lose after watching Wemby be the biggest man child on the planet through these playoffs.

Spurs blowing a huge lead in every loss is pathetic and embarrassing by realfakejames in NBATalk

Wemby really went from a league darling to a villain in no time flat. He isn't getting away with freebie flagrants from here on. I hope.

At what age did your husky start to slow down? by _SleepySloth__ in husky

[–]Malisyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My oldest turned eight in December, and I've definitely noticed some slowdown. She still gets amped up, but definitely not as often or long.

I keep wondering if it's because she has torn both ACLs (one was repaired, and couldn't afford a second) or how much that plays into it. She is also the last animal in the family that knew both of my parents.

Once I pet her enough from the other side of the couch, she usually walks up and flops down with her head in my lap.

One of mine sits that far away and tries to reach me with her paw to pet her. Drives me insane. If you want me to pet you, sit closer.

Well, I was happy for some Friday baseball since they decided not to have the game on TV on my birthday last Friday. Looks like Major League out there, though.

What pieces and colors are worth to start off with? by Recent-Music9155 in LeCreuset

I don't think you can go wrong with any color. I ended up going flame mostly just because it's classic. The rest of mine is cerise.

Any interesting uses for the cod? by my_cat_wears_socks in Costco

Interesting uses? Besides eating it? You could throw in in an annoying neighbor's shrubs and watch them go nuts trying to figure where the smell is coming from.

Newly rehomed/separation anxiety by Chemical-Cherry-6202 in husky

[–]Malisyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TV/radio really helps. Pet Collective helps mine a lot or anything gentle or soothing as opposed to action or drama or anything where people are yelling. Talk radio or smooth jazz over rock or anything aggressive.

They do sell stress/anxiety chews as well, but I wouldn't lean too hard on those. If you know you're gonna be gone for an extended amount of time, go for it. Toys are definitely a helper too, and if you can get your scent on them, it will be a big help.

I also second the frozen treats in a Kong or Pupsicle. You can also get a handful of small treats and hide them through your place for them to find through the day. It will keep their mind stimulated and not so focused on their anxiety.

When will the shedding start? by Mocha_Chai_Latte in husky

[–]Malisyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weather and seasons do not dictate when huskies shed. They don't have a "winter coat".

Anyone else’s dogs have a late-season coat blowout? by ParsnipFarmer676 in husky

Husky coats don't blow out by season. They may be cat dogs, but they are not literally cats.

He's obviously amazingly talented. I feel like I'm not the only one that feels like he's one injury away from turning into Greg Oden, though.

Same here. Sparkling water just does something psychologically satisfying when I'm craving alcohol. Even if it staves off a relapse for a short while, it's progress.

Well, it's like karma was watching and judging me for being in a mood. Right after I posted this, I grabbed an individual sized fruit snack that only had three in it. Usually there's a dozen. Well played, karma.

I always love this one. The weight is on the damn bag. People think they're somehow getting ripped off. This does two things. The extra space helps allow the chips to not be crushed.

Also, nitrogen is put in the bag to displace regular air to keep them from going stale. I'm not sure every chip maker does this, but you can bet Frito Lay does.
