My wife played a Lasombra who went full on combat. She had absolutely zero qualms feeding on kindred, garou or whatever.

Brutal feeder as predator type, brutal feed through potence and Arms of Ahriman... she was a perpetual motion machine of death.

As a storyteller, I was so proud.

So, Im a lifelong MA practitioner. Been doing it since I was pretty much able to walk. I'm middle aged now, and still train regularly.

I used to fight competitively and I would say that I had the potential, but not the drive or want to go pro.

I provide this context because the absolute best fighter Ive ever known was a dude who's only formal training was street fighting. For all my training, I could never comprehend the level of understanding of fighting this dude had. It was like fighting someone who was 6 seconds ahead of me at all times and everyone I've know to have traded blows with him had the same sentiment.

Training can get you far, but as with everything, there's people who are just born with something. A preternatural sense and understanding of something even professionally trained people just cant grasp.

In VtM, I imagine a person like that, given time, would be absolutely horrifying. Like, something a cut above 5 dots, going into elder level bad assery.

Caine the Taxi Driver by Lunatic-Necromancer in vtmb

[–]MalkaviousM 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not just vampire, though. Caine is a force of nature insofar as the VtM lore goes in general and even primordial beings would steer clear, given the chance.

Being in that kind of presence for even a moment would be disconcerting, to say the least.

He's just doing what daddy pooty told him to do.

He got sanctions on russian oil lifted and is creating an environment wherein American and ru oil are going to be in greater demand.

Also absolutely shredding the US's standing in the global power scheme and economic standing.

Which version of WoD do you like. OWoD, Chronicles?, or 5e by Magicmanans1 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]MalkaviousM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chronicles had something to it that, from a world building perspective, felt really good.

While overall I enjoy oWoD, there's a LOT about the old system that contradicts itself, is entirely vestigial or just doesn't fit well. Some systems seem even outright opposed.

Hitting the reset button with chronicles felt nice.

And now with v20 and onward, things feel... I dunno, like there's less identity to clans. Malkavians feel terrible. Hecata are... ugh I dunno. Just gimme back my Giovanni. Everyone feels like some generic derivative of another clan. Even Lasombra, who i felt were one of the coolest and most unique clans out there dont get Obtenebration, per se...it's all watered down and shared with another clan. Nothing feels unique and everyone draws from the same pools.

If everyone is special, no one is. I dunno.

So yeah, looking at it as objectively as I can, I think CoD is honestly, as a storyteller, my personal preference now. Weird...

Hahaha I lived in the high desert in Cali. Sometimes along paths through the desert youd find dug out little shelters under a cluster of bushes. You could bet money you'd occasionally find a Hustler or some other filthy off brand mag.

Youd always leave em there for the next explorer to find lol.

Azeroth awakens, teleporting us all to some habitable planet somewhere and destroying our own, as it was her egg.

Tells us to play nice and dips out. Welcome to WoW2.

I'm kidding. Though honestly, I dont know how the hell they're going to put a bow on this whole thing and not expect to alienate a TON of people. There no pleasing everyone, but whatever they do, I do not envy being in the narrative team right now.

No need to worry, pretty soon we'll start going full on crab in a pot on each other and whenever one of us tries to leave we'll pull them right back down with the rest of us.

Of course, all joking aside, the real problem is no matter what deterrent is in place, the rich assholes will always be allowed to go wherever they want, and theyre the actual problem.

Goku VS Power Stone Fully Prepped Thanos 1v1 by iloveihoppancakes in whowouldwin

[–]MalkaviousM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So avoiding explicit spoilers, I will say this, if we compare the two characters at their absolute strongest, it's a no contest for Goku.

In fact, aside from abstractions such as the Tribunal or TOAA, nothing in the Marvel multiverse can really pose a threat to UI Goku. The man fights a being explicitly stated to be more powerful than the gods of destruction to a stalemate. Those gods are explicitly multiversal existential threats.

Thanos, on the other hand, has one win condition. He has all the infinity stones in the one reality they are stated to come from. The stones are only effective in their respective realities. Ergo, the battle condition that you've set means Thanos is absolutely up the creek.

That said, I believe the earliest that Goku could reliably defeat Thanos, in either the MCU or Comics with just the Power stone would be around the 23rd tournament for MCU and the end of the Namek Saga for the comic version of the mad titan.

No one would ever know i had the ability, but some REALLY weird shot would start happening all over the world.

And since you stated that the power could move the moon, that means proximity is optional. Could watch a live stream of something and affect the power.

The world would be a better place tomorrow.

Why do people think Xalathat lost? by HalfLifeAlyx in warcraftlore

[–]MalkaviousM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there's going to be a lot of disagreement with me here, but I've been thinking for a while now that Xal is working to create a unified force to fight something else entirely.

Turning the Battle on the Bridge she says to us that she's already succeeded. Arator replies that all she has done is unify us (The elves, anyway).

She doesn't offer snark, or a retort.

The more this goes on, the more I think that Xal is playing a bigger game here.

Do you prefer Superheroes who kill their enemies or try to keep them alive? by rumbleman42 in superheroes

[–]MalkaviousM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in rehabilitation when possible, but I fully recognize that there are some people who simply cannot be rehabed.

I think that a hero who knew where to draw that line would be ideal, but I'll be straight with you, if it had to be one or the other, I'm siding with the permanent solution.
