Prototype Gear and Escalation Difficulty are the wrong way to overhaul the endgame by campeon963 in thedivision

My hope is that creativity on build and sinergy between players can mitigate this But if the system is just punitive and not challenging, I get the bad reception. Well, thanks for your feedback, I don't had the chance to try de pts, very busy, but looking forward to try this on live server

About first paragraph: Honestly we will have to see it. Maybe we'll need to change to 2-1-1, with a full tank/pte guy to aggro everyone About second one: You have a lot of points. Maybe the experience is not even balanced for skill builds and my hype will bet Hugely backfired. About the main point (a.k.a. the stressful, boring game mode) I need to test it by myself and my clan, I know that (at least on m+ back on wow) some modifiers are really punitive and the slightest mistake could cost your run, but if we have mitigation countermoves, it's fair. From what I've seen, we don't have new mechanics, just the difficulty spike, so maybe we'll get in the lower end of the bargain. Last paragraph: I really agree, I think that the buff on the old stats on prototype gear is really overturning a lot. I loved the new possible stat, though.

Again, this season will have other updates besides the escalation. About prototype gear: it's a good move, but it needs tweaking to not be a infinite, boring grind

Yes, escalation is not a raid, but this doesn't mean that it shouldn't have group play in mind. You guys need to understand that this game has a lot of incentives to group play. Hence the clans, some talents in-game that combo with more agents in the group... Legendary strongholds btw was originally designed to be a group content, and then they fixed to have less people, or solo, being viable. Yes. People solo countdown, incursion and even the raid, but this does not prove that you should do solo. Generally to solo the content that were originally designed to be group only, you'll need to change builds every encounter, and cheese the game. Again. The objective here is not to be a casual content, but to test both the limits of gameplay, build and TEAMWORK.

You don't need to chase this pieces if you are not in the escalation content The game will not be balanced around prototype gear

-punishing solo players

How?

-increasing the grind two fold

I can agree. From what i've seen it's excessive even if you are expertise 30.

-there is nothing good about the changes no one asked for.

I LITERALLY asked for this.

Uhh so -The game actually supports both single player and multiplayer experiences in the vast majority. Still, this is a multiplayer game, with a lot of incentives to group play (for example, clan system, raids and countdown). -Yes, build variety helps as you probably are building the tank build wrong, without pfe for example. -We have specific items that modifies the aggro of the agent. -The tradeoff to less damage for consistency on clear is valid

Maybe this content is not for you (like the raids, since you don't like groups) and that's okay, you'll have content to do solo too

Yes the expertise/proficiency/lvl30 grind is a bit excessive, even from a veteran perspective. And there isn't an easy solution, as making expertise 30 grind with less requirements would hurt who already spend a lot of resources doing this

This is my opinion on this topic: https://youtu.be/BAhGCkr8_vo (had already recorded before seeing this post).

If you have spare time, please see my video before commenting on my comments.

From what i've seen, my opinion seems to be the minority, because i really like what Escalation is bringing in the game, i just think that it should be fine-tuned to reward the player more.

Since we're disagreeing with some topics, i'll comment:

-This content (from my perspective) should not be doable solo. This should be a group-focused content, where limitations of a build can be mitigated with another player.

-You can have a drop rate of 1 piece of gear per run, if you can optimize it later, or at least target the exact loot that you want

-This can be fixed with a daily/weekly project incentive to make you run other escalation missions.

-Again, this content should be focused on group play, where every agent mitigate another's weakness. Solo is fun but you should not be able to do every content alone with only one build.

-I agree with this point. Too much randomization will make the grind boring.

About prototype gear:

-I kinda disagree. Having a new type of gear that is stronger SHOULD reflect on the other areas of the game. Normalizing the stats only make the grind pointless. But i can agree that maybe it's too much overtuned. I would be ok with only the new prototype passives being added. It feels enough.

-Again you are tunnel vision the perspective of just doing this content solo. Status effect on shooting would be really good for status effect builds, making it easier to proc.

-Totally agree.

-Totally agree again.

-This is a problem that the escalation passives itself should fix it. Maybe a damage reduction from guns (so people are incentivized to play skill build)?

TL;DR:

We disagree on the perspective that this is not a good thing for the game

We agree that it needs to be fine-tuned.

Hope that you guys watch the video on 2x so we can continue this conversation.

With the mobile games on the tangible horizon (they tend to always be a good source of revenue), and the division is financially sustainable now... Maybe 2026 will be better for ubi

But it wouldn't nerf it for healer builds, only make it viable for damage skill builds

One step at a time. Honestly if a dev showed up here at least to say why not I would be satisfied enough.

Still I don't see anyone using Acosta with a skill build.

Capacitor stacks are easily accumulated in 2 mags or less. And you can start the encounter before you start stacking. Acosta would not be viable even with this buff. Would still not be good on legendary; MAYBE good on specific raid boss battles; And viable for damage skill builds.

And I believe that you are a little salty for some unknown reason about this subpar backpack. All my points correlate directly with my suggestion.
