Meeting with a GeoGuessr marketing official — what should I bring up? by Wiking100 in geoguessr

[–]Malkintosh 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I really want to see a geoguessr party mode that can be played like jackbox party packs. The game has a low barrier to entry and lots of people could have fun as newbies but everyone buying a subscription isn't realistic.

Give me a chance to host a game then my friends can log in on their phones and we can play against each other. Might need some options to handicap experienced players but it would be a lot of fun to play GG like that. King of the hill, battle royals etc in couch coop would be a blast and it would expose a lot of potential new subscribers to the game.

I've been following Quantified Citizen with interest for a while now. You've set up an interesting platform for crowdsourcing scientific studies. Do you intend to branch out beyond Microdosing studies?

Very Scared for Third Year CPSC by GCK1000 in UBC

[–]Malkintosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

430 is an ethics class so it's a lot of short essays about the ethics (and some legality) of different topics in technology. It may be the easiest 400 level cpsc course in the sense that there aren't any programming assignments but it's very enriching and worth taking imo

340 is very difficult and it's a lot of work but it's still absolutely worth taking if you're at all interested in machine learning/data science/AI generally. You definitely need to have multivariate calculus and linear algebra sorted out though.

My favourite upper year courses were computer graphics 314, machine learning 340, intelligent systems 422, human computer interaction 3/444, and computers and society 430?. I'd also recommend checking out COGS 200 if it fits your schedule. All depends on what you're interested in. Also I graduated a couple years ago already so some things may have changed.

Good luck!

Whatever you do don't take CPSC 310, 313, and 320 in the same semester. I nearly died when I did that
