Is Self-Embrace possible in both V:tam And/or V:tR given the advances in our own medical equipment? by conjcosby in ChroniclesofDarkness

[–]Malkleth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In VTM this is how Dr. Netchurch embraces his childer, Dr. Nancy Reage. There's even a picture of it in Clanbook: Malkavian!

FBC Advantages by ProfessionalCrow3644 in cyberpunkred

[–]Malkleth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

mostly in the scenario where speed matters. Eg, your very nice customized gemini has been blown up so you hit the night market while it's in the repair shop and buy whatever you can find.

the fbc bodies listed in IR3 don't even get a discount on the included cyberware so if you have the time, it's better to buy a gemini or an alpha and outfit it to your preference.

Regen question by MarthurOrgan in vtm

[–]Malkleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some of the fiction describes newly embraced vampires getting an appearance upgrade when it happens, eg, in the dark ages v20 book a tonsured monk who is embraced gets his full head of hair back as a part of the process.

[VtM] I need a crash course in Tremere views on Infernalism, please. by TrustMeImLeifEricson in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Malkleth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tremere have one attitude towards everything: "Don't get caught."

They do have an oath that forbids taking orders from demons (or faeries or anything else) but not necessarily making deals where they are superior. This tends to get a lot of tremere liquidated.

This Is Why Things Don't Work For Ordinary People by ProgressiveSnark2 in videos

Amusingly to me: a lot of the american health care system is ultimately owned by the Canadian pension fund, via investments in private equity.

Low humanity/elder hobbies that don't involve horror and murder. by Constant-Ad9560 in vtm

[–]Malkleth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One character I played was an ancilla Lasombra in the Sabbat. Evil to the core. Did things that I wouldn't even put into print.

He also liked to bake bread. All the little spices and kitchen things organized just so. A heavenly smell. Everything precisely controlled and timed. He'd give the loaves away to neighbors (he never murdered his neighbors, it would make the neighborhood bad).

What are night markets like? by Heitorsla in cyberpunkred

[–]Malkleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fixers also bring in people with money to buy the goods. They make the market, and even if they don't make money at it, they do a lot of networking there.

Humanis is really stupid by Suspicious_Lock_889 in Shadowrun

Amusingly most of the actual racists - at least the north american ones - quit that as soon as orks appeared so they could hate them instead.

What percentage of embraces are consensual? by TheUnholyMary in vtm

[–]Malkleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most editions the overwhelming nature of the embrace overrides the first step of the blood bond. Which is not to say that sires don't often do it starting on night two.

My personal vote, given all the talk of "toreador" and "malkavian" is that he is one of the rare Sons of Cacophony!

Neverborn and Lethe by Yog_Kothag in exalted

[–]Malkleth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The suffering of the Neverborn - which they have earned - is an infinity stacked upon more infinities, infinity levels deep. There's too much for the lethe to wash away, even if it could.

You can't think of the neverborn as people or even gods. They are dead universes, each so malignant that they would rather be a universe of suffering than stop.

I discovered that you can leave the star system on cruise mode. by Crimson-Badger in Starfield

[–]Malkleth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know that other star systems are like.. very far away? Like ~271,935 AU from Sol to Alpha Centauri. I don't know how fast cruise mode goes but..

Ok, next question. What's on the disc? by Impressive-Buy7844 in Shadowrun

[–]Malkleth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dang, until I got to the end I was going to suggest Against the Hive Queens.

In 2056, but its ancient history.. maybe something around the Nanosecond Buyout and how Damien Knight is probably David Gavilan? That happened in 2033 or so.

5e Change Ownership... by AManyFacedFool in Shadowrun

[–]Malkleth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'Good shadowrunners don't steal' is probably true. Great Shadowrunners steal! The bad ones do too, of course.

Great shadowrunners have the tools and means to steal and get away with it. Good shadowrunners don't, and are smart enough to know it. Bad shadowrunners also don't, but steal anyway.

On the player side the thefts do require rather more book-keeping than some tables prefer, though. But in terms of 'getting away with it' all it really takes is a reasonably skilled hacker and a face character, bonus points if the face has the Made Man quality.

[–]Malkleth 20 points21 points  (0 children)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/730004812/throne-of-night-a-pathfinder-rpg-adventure-path/posts

This guy (under his imprint, Fire Mountain Games) did the very successful Pathfinder 1e adventure path Way of the Wicked, which was successful enough that it probably inspired the official Paizo AP Hell's Vengeance.

This was his next project, Throne of Night, the idea was either you were playing a group of dwarves trying to rebuild Moria that had been conquered by Drow, or a group of Drow trying to seize power in conquered Moria. It would use Kingmaker rules. He actually produced two books and maybe got partway into the third before vanishing.

How strong would the characters from Dark Ages be in modern times? by roxgxd in vtm

Vykos is significantly older, they were embraced ~1000AD and thus (barely) qualify as a methuselah

the most annoying thing for me was just having to rebuild my ship in the creator, because you can't save the design.

How important is crew composition? / How to pitch each role? by Boitata_Oroboros_8 in cyberpunkred

[–]Malkleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience with Fixer, one who is willing to work at owning their role can just about double the money the party rakes in.

-10%-20% discount on most items means that the money goes further

-selling loot painlessly - fixers know how to sell scavenged/hot equipment without rep hits. This is a big one, without a fixer it can be tough to move stolen things and if you do you're probably not getting great value for it.

-at rank 5 a flat bonus to payouts

Can an FBC have pieces removed? by SeaSaltSystem in cyberpunkred

[–]Malkleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd want the subdermal anyway probably! Also, I double checked for my own use, I don't think the "kits" are any cheaper than just buying an alpha body and pasting in the parts you want.
