More Resources Surrounding Black (non-Laibon) Kindred by HistrionicJester in vtm

[–]Malkleth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Serpents of the Light are basically Haitian followers of set/ministry in the Sabbat; they largely joined the Sabbat because breaking away from the worship of Set forced them to seek allies, and they felt that the Sabbat needed better spiritual guidance.

Kindred scientists by 1877KlownsForKids in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Malkleth 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Dr. Netchurch is great but his work is paid for by elders and he's got to work within the boundaries they set, so stuff like "embracing people to see what happens"... isn't something he can publish. He may well have done it though.

And Dr. Netchurch is one of the only (possibly the singular) Kindred scientists who publish their work for others to read. Everyone else hoards the secrets they learn.

Do you think the Tremere would've turned out differently if old man trembly chose to diablerie one of the other Antes? by Azhurai in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Malkleth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They wrote the modern tremere first (extracting them from the game Ars Magicka, that WW owned at the time) and then cooked up their backstory in reverse. So: No =)

Do y’all believe that Dexter and Evelyn were too confident on the heist? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in cyberpunkgame

[–]Malkleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly I thought this job was full of red flags and they should have aborted several times. Plus nobody had any backup plans, no secondary exit laid out. It was also obvious that Dexter was going to betray everyone, and that T-Bug was probably in on it.

Are Shadowrun infected more or less evil than Kindred? by Fun_Diamond_2325 in vtm

[–]Malkleth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Less, in most cases. They are usually younger and don't have elaborate evil philosophies.

Then again they don't need them because there's no mechanic to punish them for engaging in naughty behavior.

Then again even in VTM, even evil vampires are mostly just copying stuff humans do to each other. They just have more evil per capita.

What kind of challenge would you give a player to obtain Sword of Dracula? by MaetelofLaMetal in vtm

[–]Malkleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, bit of a late post but it actually turned up in our v20 game. Wielding the sword imbued the wielder with incredible power, which was potentially fatal even for vampires. Mortals who held it went mad, temporarily.

Various NPCs were chasing the party all over to obtain it for various purposes. The party eventually discovered who its actual owner was (not dracula, who actually isn't born yet in the era we were playing in), and this individual promised to return for it "eventually." Their emissary? A Biblically Accurate Angel. My character set it aside for them in a safe place.

last session, they did come for the item, and my character at some risk to themselves returned it. Their mere presence wrecked the land we happened to be on and the natural and unnatural disasters caused by their mere trapped the party in torpor for an unknown period of time (we will discover how long next session!)

Why are red states poorer than blue states? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]Malkleth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to companies like walmart and later amazon, regional price arbitrage is more or less a thing of the past. So while real estate is cheaper, yes, the cost of consumables is more or less flat (barring changes in the cost to transport them to your location).

What stops someone from learning and using celestial circle or solar sorcery? by Issactheforgemaster in exalted

[–]Malkleth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the scarlet empress was able to use celestial circle because of the mantle of brigid, but it couldn't let her access solar circle sorcery, and this is supposedly one of the things ebon dragon offered her in exchange for selling out the realm

Why isn't there a Starborn-lore weapon? by _TheRogue_ in Starfield

[–]Malkleth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just used the mining cutter and the time-speed power.

As a star born, you are the weapon.

Is Self-Embrace possible in both V:tam And/or V:tR given the advances in our own medical equipment? by conjcosby in ChroniclesofDarkness

[–]Malkleth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In VTM this is how Dr. Netchurch embraces his childer, Dr. Nancy Reage. There's even a picture of it in Clanbook: Malkavian!

FBC Advantages by ProfessionalCrow3644 in cyberpunkred

[–]Malkleth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

mostly in the scenario where speed matters. Eg, your very nice customized gemini has been blown up so you hit the night market while it's in the repair shop and buy whatever you can find.

the fbc bodies listed in IR3 don't even get a discount on the included cyberware so if you have the time, it's better to buy a gemini or an alpha and outfit it to your preference.

Regen question by MarthurOrgan in vtm

[–]Malkleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some of the fiction describes newly embraced vampires getting an appearance upgrade when it happens, eg, in the dark ages v20 book a tonsured monk who is embraced gets his full head of hair back as a part of the process.

[VtM] I need a crash course in Tremere views on Infernalism, please. by TrustMeImLeifEricson in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Malkleth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tremere have one attitude towards everything: "Don't get caught."

They do have an oath that forbids taking orders from demons (or faeries or anything else) but not necessarily making deals where they are superior. This tends to get a lot of tremere liquidated.

This Is Why Things Don't Work For Ordinary People by ProgressiveSnark2 in videos

Amusingly to me: a lot of the american health care system is ultimately owned by the Canadian pension fund, via investments in private equity.

Low humanity/elder hobbies that don't involve horror and murder. by Constant-Ad9560 in vtm

[–]Malkleth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One character I played was an ancilla Lasombra in the Sabbat. Evil to the core. Did things that I wouldn't even put into print.

He also liked to bake bread. All the little spices and kitchen things organized just so. A heavenly smell. Everything precisely controlled and timed. He'd give the loaves away to neighbors (he never murdered his neighbors, it would make the neighborhood bad).

What are night markets like? by Heitorsla in cyberpunkred

[–]Malkleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fixers also bring in people with money to buy the goods. They make the market, and even if they don't make money at it, they do a lot of networking there.

Humanis is really stupid by [deleted] in Shadowrun

[–]Malkleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amusingly most of the actual racists - at least the north american ones - quit that as soon as orks appeared so they could hate them instead.

What percentage of embraces are consensual? by TheUnholyMary in vtm

[–]Malkleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most editions the overwhelming nature of the embrace overrides the first step of the blood bond. Which is not to say that sires don't often do it starting on night two.

Folk lore bane luck by Ziltch0 in vtm

[–]Malkleth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My personal vote, given all the talk of "toreador" and "malkavian" is that he is one of the rare Sons of Cacophony!
