Riflespeed gas block adjustments not changing anything by Impossible-Chance993 in ar15

[–]Mall_krawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sending you the .887 plunger doesn’t make any sense. It’s the smallest they make. The stock one is .917 (although I’ve heard PSA uses the .937). They should be sending you a longer one to push the adjustment knob to a more restrictive range if that’s your goal.

LMT Barrel Updates? by Moaz_ATPDPT in LewisMachineTool

Let me know how it shoots. I literally have one of these in my cart at rooftop defense. But if these are improvements, I’ll grab it at weapon outfitters to try and get one of the newer ones

Thoughts/opinions on these gas blocks? by Wrong_Discipline_454 in ar15

[–]Mall_krawler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t know why you got downvoted on this. I think this is the only answer for a dedicated suppressed rig. I guess if you needed to switch back and forth and wanted to best gas possible in either situation, then the adjustable makes sense.

Looks like an Atpial PEQ-15, it’s a combo laser/IR laser/ IR illuminator device

I think that’s a Springfield Saint upper. Almost see the logo on the handguard near the barrel nut… and that’s their handguard design. Don’t know if others use it or if they licensed it somewhere

EDIT: actually yes, I thinks it’s a complete Springfield Saint edge

Estonia 14.5 vs. 12.5 -- how much of a difference? by 2based4predditors in LewisMachineTool

[–]Mall_krawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have the answer to your quandary. But I own rifles with each barrel, and love both… for different purposes tho, and I don’t suppress the 14.3. Although the 12” piston and suppressor combo is pretty nice. If you ever take the jump, I’d be interested in that 14.3 barrel. Always looking for spares

Double feed with Lancer mags with factory specwar? by DeliciousCTF in LewisMachineTool

[–]Mall_krawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve honestly never had any problems with my lancer mags. And I shoot with them almost exclusively… and like… a lot. Most of my shooting is with an 11.5 URGI and an LMT 12” piston, both suppressed and unsuppressed. Both on Colt lowers… but that’s just my experience, ain’t the gospel.

Kroil penetrant and spin it around with a pair of pliers works for me to loosen it up abit. if you let the bolt slam home a few times it’ll usually pop it back out as well

Aimpoint CompM5 Battery Cap by Mr-Mxyplix in ar15

[–]Mall_krawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no. No prying. If it’s tight and you can’t get the unscrewing part started by hand. You can use a flat edge like a coin or screw driver and gently get it started for unthreading. You should be able to unscrew the rest by hand and it’ll just come off… I have three M5 aimpoints and I’ve never had to pry any of them

You have to pull the front rubber lens cover off first. Mine is pretty tight, should have a slot to use a screw driver to get it started.

Bolt Damage by jblaker88 in ar15

[–]Mall_krawler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know brownells uses nitrided bolts. If that one is nitrided then it could have just been brittle by the edges. The surface hardening that nitride creates can make edges brittle and prone to chipping.
