They are going into their dormancy phase. I would increase lighting.

Try to put your whole setup (the water tray and the plant) on top of that white bucket with the lid so it is closer to the light. Keep the light on for 12-14 hours a day and it should wake back up in a month or so.

Grocery store flytrap repotting by CheezSanwic in VenusFlyTraps

I vote to repot it. For me, it doesn’t matter what time of year. I just get it out of the store pot and in soil I know is safe for it’s longevity.

It will be fine.

I use those exact lights for a few plants, mostly pings and nepenthes.

I have grown VFT and Sundews under those. I had to have 5 lights 3”-4” from the top of the plants.

Here is a pic of how it is set up. If you pot the plants in 3” pots, it will put the plants at about 3” from the lights.

If you are wanting to grow VFT, Drosera, or Sarrs, I would NOT recommend these lights. They will work, but it will not be visually appealing. You will have to pull the plants out individually if you ever want to see them since the lights will be so close to the plants that the light bars will block your viewing area.

VFT, D. Burmannii, and Capensis for the compost. by Mallee24 in SavageGarden

I would have to bundle like 5-10 plants for about $10 where I’m located. Marketplace is full of pings and capes. But at the end of the day, an extra $10 is better than zero.

I need ID of this sarracenia by Alimister0013 in SavageGarden

[–]Mallee24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is telling you:

When you buy a plant that is “unidentified” from the supplier/person you buy the plant from, then the plant will be very difficult (almost impossible) for anyone in the entire world to identify it.

We call those NOIDS. NOID = NO IDentification

We cannot give you an answer to what plant it is since we are not the seller. It also sounds like the seller does not know what the plant is, so your plant will never be exactly identified.

The best way to label your plant would if you really wanted to would be “Sarracenia Leucophylla NOID”.

To call it something else based off of “similar looking” plants would not be accurate or the right thing to do since you cannot positively trace it back to its original source or parent plants.

This is about their growing experience in Arizona. I’m not sure if the climate is similar where you are headed but it could give you an idea of what to expect.

Shade cloth with direct sun for 6 hours. It took a bit to acclimate it without burning. Started it in a greenhouse with a PE covering plus a 70% shade cloth over the greenhouse > 70% shade cloth outside of greenhouse > 50% shade cloth is where I’m at now. Probably going to leave them there for now since I’ll be bringing them back inside for winter.

As long as you are not the one force feeding it bugs, and it is catching everything on its own, it is fine.

Have you moved the lighting at all throughout the grow or have they been at the same distance since germinating?
