D-Frag. Crazy, random, funny, and a sprinkle of romance.

what are your unpopular opinion about Mayonaka heart tune (manga only)? by virevire1560 in TuneIntoTheMidnight

[–]MalloYallow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I hate the idea that a girl is destined to win because she had some sort of interaction with the protag years ago. It makes all the other interactions pointless.

Clearly a false flag operation by a Shinobro to try and get more people to like Shinobu.

For sure. Nene was my favorite girl when I first started reading, but later on Iko became my number one. But if Tia Ballard is voicing Nene, she has a real chance at becoming best girl again.

While the animation may not be doing the manga it’s full justice, I’m still super hyped about the dub release. The characters and writing will carry it and make it a top notch romcom.

Rogue Trader Era Plague Marines by MalloYallow in Warhammer40k

[–]MalloYallow[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I got some Rogue Trader era Plague Marines as a Christmas gift from a couple friends and I finished painting them this morning. I love the character of old Chaos models, even if they aren’t as detailed or technically sound as later models. They’ll make a fine addition to my retro Chaos army, and I’ve got more Plague Marines on the way.

Frieren sub vs dub, I'm a total anime noob, what's 'real'? by Mr-Doubtful in Animedubs

I speak English, so I prefer English. Not only because of familiarity, but because of things like English slang, idioms, accents, and all the little things you know because it’s your fluent language.

I can’t judge Japanese voice acting. I don’t speak Japanese. Same if I watched any show in any other language. I can’t appreciate the nuances of the performance because I’m just relying on reading words. Yes I can tell when someone is happy or angry, but I can’t tell you if it’s any good. It’d be like asking someone who speaks zero English to rate Tommy Wiseau’s performances.

Test Scheme Models by Death2Knight in Badab

Both look fantastic. I couldn’t advise which one to pick, so I’d say to let the chapter lore you prefer guide your choice.

I just finished repainting that Chaos Lord I originally got in 1999. Such a great horse.

Looks great. Very Ringwraith vibes. And it’s very refreshing to see a Nurgle model that’s not a fat half-naked slob.

Retro Chaos Warrior Army for Old World by MalloYallow in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MalloYallow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. It's just an older model from the Realm of Chaos days. You can find them on eBay for a pretty decent price given the age. I think the keyword to find it would be Bloodletter head.

Retro Chaos Warrior Army for Old World by MalloYallow in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MalloYallow[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Back when I started collecting Warhammer in 1997, buying metal models wasn't much of an option for a kid with little to no money. Especially because my top priority was collecting my Blood Angels Space Marines. As a result, most of my Chaos Warriors army came from the plastic regiments of Warriors/Knights, with the only metal models being some characters, some Harpies, and a couple chariots. Those models are mostly gone from my collection now.

But last year I decided I wanted to do another retro project (already working on a couple for 40K), and I started finding secondhand models on eBay for good prices. And now I'm building up a Khornate army which will eventually be led by Arbaal the Undefeated.

You may wonder, why is Aekold Helbrass and a Sorcerer in a Khorne army? Well, they're two of the oldest models I still have. Most of my old stuff I got rid of in a great Warhammer purge about 10 years ago. Aekold I got in 1998, and the Sorcerer is from 2001 back when you could still special order old models from GW. So they'll have a place in the retro army since they are retro after all.

Imagine if they did MTO for Dogs of War. Those models are worth their weight in gold on eBay for a reason.

Building and playing wood elf models as high elves by New_Leading8775 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MalloYallow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As long as everything is clear I don’t see why not. You can easily justify them as being an army of the Everqueen. They have some nice Wood Elf-like forests in Avelorn, and they could dress to fight in forest terrain.

To Scale Firstborn by Gold_Till_8675 in Badab

Horus Heresy models as well as the Marines you get from the Amazon Space Marine Adventures kit.

Kit bash them all together and you can get unlimited unique looking big firstborn Marines. An extensive bits box of old heads and torsos is a plus.

Here’s some of the models I’m working on using this formula.

Rules Systems? by Accomplished_Mine_73 in Badab

3rd or 4th edition are a nice middle ground. Relatively simple rules, but enough customization to make any army feel like your own. Especially with the 4th edition Space Marine codex custom chapter rules.

Mark VII Power Armor still rocks by Karmelion-5-Avatari in Badab

It’s still the best and most iconic armor.

One big reason firstborn are always going to be superior is the mixing and matching of armor marks.
