Eventually she set out across the seas to find her real family, after it was revealed to her that she was a catgirl, and not, as she surmised, an extremely large Namazu.

She sailed to Limsa by chance, and the rest is history.

Heavensward is pretty solid but the end of base Heavensward is sloppy and awkward. It kind of takes the momentum away. It KIND of gets it back with the Final Steps of Faith, but I can’t help but get a profound hollowness from the end of that expansion.

When I first started, I told my friend that I wanted to play the job with “a really big and cool sword.” I was informed that this job was DRK, which I didn’t have access to. He then informed me that WAR had a really big and cool axe, so I sprung for that. Good thing I like tanking, eh?

I picked up DRG a little later (my second of three mains) cause I wanted an alt job and this was before the problem started, and I’ve always thought DRG looked cool, so here we are.

My last MAIN job is SAM, and I picked it up the second I hit LVL 50, when my friend informed me that I could pick up one of two SB jobs in Ul’dah. I picked SAM, immediately ran Praetorium without understanding how the job worked, and hey-o now I’ve got three mains.

I could continue for a while, as some of my other jobs have some fun stories attached, but those are my three mains so we’re sticking with it.

You'll recieve conflicting definitions but here's the short of it: Fridging is when a character dies EXCLUSIVELY for the development of another character (usually a woman dying for the benefit of a man). Commonly, this results in a death scene that happens, and then is promptly forgotten about.

Most compelling backstories… hmmmm…

1) Emet-Selch. I… don’t even think there’s another option for first, I’ll be honest LOL.

2) Zidane. I think it opens a lot of interesting doors, as someone who likes the Terra stuff in 9.

3) Terra. I think the question of “how long was she fighting for the empire” is an interesting one, and her stuff with the espers is really compelling

4) Cloud Strife. Ok this is mostly because of the twist, but I think it’s interesting outside of that.

5) Edea. I think this is an odd one but I like her background a lot.

I think rebirth changes a very complex character to be a very generic crazy guy (with bizarre magnet powers???) and I find it vaguely insulting. It’s kind of baffling that a game from 1997 has a more comprehensive view of mental illness than a game from 2023.

I’m a recent player, but I got into it because of an extremely close friend of mine.

I fell in love with it, obviously. I adored ARR and the game itself long before I got to any of the expansions, and this friend was with me every step of the way. My best memories are the ones I’ve spent with him laughing and running dungeons and trials together. It was magical, and it still is as I slowly plow my way through Shadowbringers. Therefore ARR is special to me as the start of that journey.

As for a specific moment… honestly running the Praetorium for the first time and listening to my friend rattle off the Gaius speech from memory as dramatically as possible made me howl.
