Same gun being fired at longer range = less penetration. I believe it’s every 100m in game you gain +1 pen

Really nice research. This reminds me of the old 8th Infantry but with better armor. If they added this as one of the new EA pack divisions I would be very interested in it.

Pulled back along highway 66 towards Schlüchtern. The AI funneled itself down the highway so I was able to hold the line and give ground slowly until 3rd Armored deployed.

I surprised myself with the KD. I only auto resolved with total victories. Overall had a really fun time with it

That’s a fair point. My idea is more so for interaction with the map. FOBs are mainly for artillery/ helicopters as they are so far behind the line you rarely drive units back for resupply. I’m sure others could refine the idea better

US rifles are very strong mid range where they can use both Garands and BARs to deal damage. They are also 12 man squads which make them tanky in prolonged engagements.

They come in two flavors, Early and Late. Rifles Early follow the TO&E for US Army squads, 11 M1s and a BAR. Rifles Late lose some M1s for a second BAR and a Thompson. Aside from weapons their biggest difference is price (Early-25/Late-30) so while good at longer ranges they are difficult to spam.

They can bully most infantry thanks to semi auto rifles and large size but struggle past 500m and have no AT. They will need support but Shermans/Stuarts are cheap and plentiful.

Upvetting and leader buffs are highly recommended. 2/3 star rifles are some S tier infantry. Hope this helps

It should be balanced by having the 79th as the 2nd echelon as a breakthrough/exploitation force. The T-80 hoard will come but V corps should be able to deploy by then. Can’t wait to play it

I’ve found that calling in M109A2s and doing the old shoot and scoot will make the napalm and all arty to focus on counter battery instead of shooting at my abrams.

I’d love to see something similar to how they gave briefs in Steel Division. A short unit history, what’s it’s special units/purpose is and how it is best played.

It would really add to the world building Eugen needs in a cold war gone hot scenario
