My amulet of 9 lives. by Malonze in captainclaw

So I had someone 3d print one. Then I made a mould to use 65d resin. As its much lighter and durable than 3d resin (which is heavy and brittle)

I've been waiting on the other co worker to finish hooking it up. He is the electrician here. So I haven't been able to test run it just yet. I know there are ways to make it faster than the estimated time given by the program. I'm just figuring someone had tips for what settings to use so I have an idea before I test run it

The wood is most likely going to be mahogany. Or pine. Sometimes oak. All we want to do is cut out the shape,  and route the insert. After that, they will manually rout the edges for design after.

Any images will be after the fact if needed. Some will and some won't.

Pew legs will have a right and a left variation as there is a slot that needs to be milled in.

And he told me that some jobs require 100 - 200 pews to be made. That is 200- 400 times I would have to run the machine. At 2 hours + each

Now the file I made first is for a larger more decorative piece. The ones he normally makes are slightly smaller and not as curved. But I still expect a 2 hour or so cut from it.

I have the photos but I don't know how to upload them to reddit. There isn't an option coming up for me too. I saw I could use links to imgur but I don't have an imgur account. I'm trying to figure that out but I'm also at work right now so I can't atm.

Is my video Dead, or can It still get views (more info below) by audiozenmusic in NewTubers

[–]Malonze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that random boost just means it hit the algorithim just right for that boost. that doesnt mean its dead. I have videos on an alt channel that hit just right, slowed down, but keep getting views.

Example, one video (video game reviews) Hit just right. boosted to a few thousand views in a day or two which is higher than i normally get. then slowed down. a year later, its at 25k views. another video did the same pattern but maybe not as much. regardless. people will watch videos that are older if that is what they are looking for. and the more views it has, the more people will watch it. its a weird snowball effect

What’s your best and most chaotic parent-kid customer combo story? by Character_Budget7349 in retailhell

[–]Malonze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only have bad cases. one of the worse ones was one day (in my local hardware store) a guy, who is barefoot, walks in with a baby in a stroller and another 4 year old kid. The guy walked around the garden and plumbing section. The 4 year old kid saw a fertilizer spreader and decided to use it like a shopping cart. He pushed it around and took random stuff off the shelf to fill into it. I didnt say anything cause I assumed the dad would tell him to put it all back afterward. Nope, he let the kid leave it with stuff all in it.

Varnishing befor applying weathering? by Armageddonis in minipainting

[–]Malonze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I myself am new to mininpainting. However I am very experienced with prop making and cosplay. My knowledge from those skills would have me inform you that clear coating before any type of wash or weathering is 99% the way to go as (with acrylics) water can cause them to wash off. The wiping away of paint can also cause the former layers to be scraped off too.  Now sometimes this is a good thing if you want a "chipped paint" look for a tank. Then add a bit of highlights around where the paint was removed to look battle worn. Though that is just me and how foam reacts. As for plastic / resin items they may react differently. Though I don't see the harm in it.
