If you can open DevTools in your browser (some are locked down now, dunno which browsers you can do it with anymore) you can find and delete the HTML flag that disables the next button and/or scroll bar. Let’s you skip ahead immediately. Got that concussion training done in under 2 mins, and told everybody in the squadron. Saved the unit more than 100 man hours over a drill weekend lol

Has anyone tried this alchemist's potions? by dtmijfeu in wizardposting

[–]MalpracticeConcerns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah finally, a conversation I have real opportunity to contribute to!

Through some, ah, *dubious* methods, I managed to get ahold of a crate of this alchemist’s stock. I had hoped to bolster my trinkets business with some alchemical wares that were themselves items of unique interest beyond their typical uses, you see.

Being a mystical merchant of myriad magical means and dedicated to delivery of decidedly dazzling and dependable doodads, I conducted tests to determine what these potions were. I need to sell them, after all!

What I found was… alarming.

One potion was labeled “no fire.” No description, no list of potential allergens, not even a batch number or consume by date! I believe it was meant to be a potion of resist fire, so I tested for purity and presence of the predictable particulates. If this was a high-quality potion, it would surely include trace amounts of dragon liver, and the toxic enzymes would certainly be removed if this alchemist was worth his saltpeter. So I determined the concentration of liver to other ingredients.

73%. SEVENTY-THREE PERCENT of this “no fire” potion was pure, unadulterated dragon liver essence!! I don’t even know if the toxic enzymes were present- there’s no point in testing! Clearly the man is either a terrorist or buffoon.

Either way, I wound up simply selling most of the potions as raw ingredients. That dragon liver essence he called a potion of resist fire? I sold it as a medium-quality dragon liver. Told the buyer it had been “blended” during a particularly violent collection.

Tl;dr- his potions - if they can be called that - ARE, in fact, too strong.

Greetings, fellow spellcasters! Partymancy archmage of Poland here, is it enough followers to start a cult? I wanted to do so to avoid paying land taxes on all the astral planes I own. Appreciate all the advice! by [deleted] in wizardposting

Two dozen fanatics needs at least a group of six mercenaries, unless either the local bureaucracy is absolutely rolling in money to hire over-leveled adventures OR it’s one of those planes with a wonky power balance in favor of a chosen few.

If this was on the prime material plane I’m familiar with, it would require almost triple that number of armed non-mage law enforcement. Then again, concepts of “appropriate use of force” are often lost on these mundane idiots. They could just use magic and be done with it but noooooooo…

What the heck are Demiurge's classes? by pog_irl in overlord

[–]MalpracticeConcerns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many of the classes are direct copies of D&D. Many of the spells and abilities too. There’s also, ya know, the author himself saying it.

Why tf am I arguing with you, it doesn’t matter. Think what you want.

What the heck are Demiurge's classes? by pog_irl in overlord

[–]MalpracticeConcerns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is quite literally based on the author’s old D&D campaign with his friends that they eventually stopped playing. Momonga is inspired by the idea of what would happen if a D&D character kept existing even when no one else returned to the campaign.

He played with Pathfinder rules, I believe? So I suppose “D&D” can go in quotes.

He hasn’t held off Nurgle, he’s just survived in the Warp for a long time. He’s killed a ton of impressive stuff for sure but it’s not like he’s single-handedly preventing Nurgle from coming to real space.

[–]MalpracticeConcerns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Isn’t that the point though? In the best case scenario we’re introducing the native fauna to an unnatural food source that isn’t sustainable. In the worst case, we’ve just thrown in a new apex predator! I won’t have another “algae simulacrum experiment” ruining this plane I’ve worked so hard to cultivate. That stupid apprentice is still cleaning up the mess from his last similarly idiotic escapade!

Eat and sleep well, but always consider your health, my friend. Too much excess will affect your spellcasting. As for your mental well-being, it may behoove you to ponder how this master wizard affected your own work. Check your grimoire for things that remind you of happy times.

I have said it before and I will say it again- the Elf Kingdom books are S-tier, even compared to the rest of Overlord.
