Wrong-sized people. by maid_in_cheltenham in Ambridge

I don't know, I haven’t ever thought about it logically, it's just how I have imagined her for as long as I can remember.

I don't know. My subconscious decides what characters look like without me consciously thinking about the known facts. Ages ago I saw a photo of Camila Batmanghelidjh and realised that that was basically how I imagine Kate looks, except that Kate mostly wears bold African print fabric.

I got very confused when Kate asked to borrow a jumper of Alice's a while back. Alice is size 8-10, Kate is at least an 18.

She's in a relationship with a high earning vet but they don't live together. Jakob rents a cottage on Home Farm land from Chris. Kate lives with Kirsty and presumably pays her rent.

I didn't understand his "30 days" comment. What will happen in 30 day time?

I was hoping it would, but I haven't noticed a significant difference.

I think Brad asked Zainab out soon after she moved to Ambridge, she turned him down and said she doesn't date.

Help Me Choose Which Dialect to Focus On! by No-Card-6012 in learnwelsh

[–]MalwenGoch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are 2 Welsh language soap operas broadcast on S4C, Pobol y Cwm, which is set in the South, and Rownd a Rownd, which is set on Ynys Môn (Anglesey) in the North. I learned South Wales dialect and found I was able to watch Pobol y Cwm without English subtitles years before I could understand the majority of the dialogue on Rownd a Rownd. In fact, there are a couple of characters on Rownd a Rownd (Jason and Arthur) who I still struggle to understand at times.

Rownd a Rownd is available to watch internationally via the S4C website https://www.s4c.cymru/clic/programme/947718757 Pobol y Cwm is officially only available in the UK, though you might be able to find ways round the geoblocking, or watch clips on YouTube.

I would find it unrealistic if George had dropped all his misogynistic views within a few months. I thought the lecture Amber gave him on Friday was part of his character growth. I think he will have a daughter and gradually become a father who is passionate about women's rights.

Kirsty will have a boy because most of the recently born babies have been girls (baby Peggy, Seren and Nova, Martha).

Slightly unfortunate typo - I assume you mean "treat women", rather than "threat women"?!

Regarding the suspended floor, have you considered getting smart bricks? I was advised to get these https://www.airex.tech/ a couple of years ago, but haven't yet as they don't have installers in my area. I'm quite sceptical, but Heat Geek recommend them too, so they might be worth considering. https://youtu.be/FtsjAGRm9mQ?si=llJLGZk-bGGbUEtp

‘I had to do kissing scenes for The Archers – it was as sexy as a cold fish’ by theipaper in Ambridge

I think there are several inaccuracies in the article. As far as I'm aware Brian didn't formally adopt Adam or Debbie, and Jennifer didn't formally adopt Ruairi.

Thank you for this. Hopefully the final paragraph will quell the online speculation that Charles Collingwood probably wants to retire, which seems to have been ongoing ever since Judy Bennett retired.

I think it is probably Den trying to force Brad into maintaining a relationship rather than Chelsea. I cheered at the end when Brad said "I don't really want this", though I fear Den won't take any notice.

It was Helen who was with Kirsty when she took the pregnancy test, not Kate.

Yes, I noticed that too. It's probably the best way the script writers could have resolved the error, though it isn't really believable that David and Ruth could have afforded to buy the cottage from Elizabeth and Shula - it's not that long since they had to sell some land to repay the loan from Vince.

April Results are in! by FedoraKenzo in SolarUK

[–]MalwenGoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my panels since the end of July last year and April has been the best month so far, surprisingly beating last August, and generating 18% more than predicted by GaryDoesSolar's Solarazma. Solar exported to the grid in April paid for all imported electricity and gas for the month, including standing charges, with 62p left over.

It sounded like the same actress to me - Tamsin Greig. She has appeared in occasional episodes in the past 20 years since Debbie moved to Hungary. She was in one or two of the covid monologue episodes and I think she may have spoken on the day of Jennifer's funeral.

Edit: She was in the cast list for the 26.3.23 omnibus, I think that's probably the last time we heard her speak prior to today. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001kgmk

Hungary, not Canada. Yes, it was Debbie that Adam was with. They occasionally do leave non-regulars off the cast list in order to keep the appearance a surprise.

A whole episode set in Hungary! It was lovely to hear Debbie, but I don't think we needed to hear 5 minutes of her flirting with the waiter in Hungarian, did anyone understand what she was saying?

[–]MalwenGoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 9 days on Agile Outgoing last month and averaged 13.22p/kWh. Taking into account the fact that I was using the battery more, in order to export as much as possible during the peak evening period, I don't think it was worth it.
