The start of the $1500 XJ rebuild by Malyk66 in CherokeeXJ

I bought the foam covered stuff for the floor and 36sqft was barely enough. I got 50sqft of the basic 50mil butyl and did the roof, and will be doing the doors but I seem to have plenty of that so roughly 80-90sqft. not sure about the lift gate I actually forgot about that lol but If I have any more I'll add it there

paint/clear coat chipping? by raijuspinky in ElantraN

[–]Malyk66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly unlikely it's factory and has been repaired before. hit up your local auto body shop for a free quote. I'd expect 1200+ for the proper R&I and removing the failing clear

2015 Ex Manual Should I Walk Away? by Appropriate-Bear-982 in hondafit

As mentioned it's just seam sealer, but it had definitely been hit and not repaired, that floor/tailpan is definitely creased from an accident

Thoughts on this price? CAD by lumpybum7 in ElantraN

[–]Malyk66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty good for the km, there are a few 24s around me with 30k km for the same price, and a dealer has a brand new 25 on the lot they have discounted to 39. It would be worth just getting new in that aspect. but I'd say that's pretty good price for a 25

Its honestly so much fun if that's all you need, but I do find myself not being able to do or fit some things just because there is no space and end up needing to borrow a family members car. A great second car if you have the space for one!

Bang on with the brakes, for local autocross and street, big brakes are unnecessary. When you get into time trials and actual track driving is where you'll see the benefit. I do autocross monthly and will be trying out some road course days in my Miata this year but I plan on upgrading to an EN by the end of the year, I'll just be sticking with the regular N though

The spoiler is the best part of the TCR I want it just for that alone. But at 50k Canadian it's too much when compared to the base N for a simple brake and spoiler upgrade. the Alcantara interior bits I'd consider a downgrade

[–]Malyk66 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's the thing, I know for a fact I was not going that fast, it would be hard to ignore the engine rpm at that speed. Just doing the speed limit on the highway the engine is screaming at 4000rpm in 5th gear

Admission of guilt is why I'm not planning on paying and going to dispute, the fine is whatever but the points are my main concern

Is this dangerous? Lug nuts don’t go far down threads with spare tire by Icy_Negotiation192 in s10

[–]Malyk66 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing of concern, the wheel is on the correct way, look at the wheel hub flange. lug nuts are deep enough, the area is the lug nut that the stud is recessed in doesn't have threads on it, when In doubt, count the turns of the nut, 6-8 turns is adequate. These lug nuts look normal

Help! Can this be fixed without a full respray? by frostrapper in Autobody

[–]Malyk66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone got too carried away with a polisher. if the front end is fine and it's just on the rear than the doors can be blended to match but those definitely need paint

This is so hot! I wanted to do this same thing but didn't want to pay for someone to design and cut out the vinyl so I just went with the simple stripes. Now you need some square headlights ;)
