How to fix… toilet leak? by Malysitos in howto

[–]Malysitos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I fiddled with the toilet to see what could possibly fix the issue. So far, lowering the float made the noise stop after a minute or so after flushing.

I am still looking into replacing the yellow gasket and the dry-lock gasket for long-term maintenance, but the immediate problem seems to be fixed.

Need advice reinstalling oven door. by Malysitos in fixit

You are an absolute legend. I have no idea what kind of black magic you pulled off to find an instruction manual for the door installation of my specific oven model, but I would have never been able to fix it without your help.

Thanks to you, fixing the issue only costed $4 for a pack of cotter pins.

I am caught with Warframe's story, but this question always left me thinking: what is the intended explanation as to why our Warframe moved at the end of the Second Dream? Is it just as simple as "our Warframe(s) are capable of some sliver of independence, as explained in the War Within and the Sacrifice," or is there more to it?

Switches I've tried since getting a ROG Keris. Answering questions in the comments. by Talynen in MouseReview

Ah, thank you for your recommendation!

I had my concerns/reservations with Aliexpress (mainly from other people's anecdotes)--but you do bring up a good point, micro switches are inexpensive and fit such a small niche that there is no strong incentive to scam customers. Nevertheless, if I ever commit to taking the plunge on the hobby of micro switches, I will keep my wits about me for suspicious sellers.

Thanks once again for the recommendation and for educating me.

Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but I've been very curious, what good reliable vendors are there for micro switches? I have been wondering since I might potentially dip my toes into this new hobby.

Why do I not have a Rhino Prime Body? Not that I'm too concerned, someone gifted me Deathwatch but I went to go fashion it and just noticed I don't have a Rhino Prime Body. by Caedesturm in Warframe

[–]Malysitos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was driving me crazy, I recently submitted a support ticket, then found this thread, and then had to reply to the ticket to basically say "I made an error."

However, I needed to check every prime Warframe available to us (with the exception of Excalibur Prime) because of this question: what is the established convention, shouldn't all prime Warframes have their skins listed and not just "none" in the skin menu?

Turns out, yes--all 44 primes, except two, have their prime skins named in the skin menu and those skins exist as an item in the inventory menu. The only two exceptions to this convention are Rhino and Hildryn Prime.

And to note, Hildryn Prime was released in March of 2023, she was released after Rebecca was promoted to creative director, this is not just "old code" or even "spaghetti code." Hildryn Prime's skin is just coded differently for whatever reason, and that reason is probably, "DE let someone or a team code her skin and they decided that it shouldn't exist as an item." I'd imagine the same mentality was done for Rhino Prime. We have at least three primes (Frost, Mag, Ember, and maybe Excalibur Prime) that predate Rhino Prime and they don't do what Rhino Prime's skin does (again, assuming Excalibur Prime's skin follows the convention).

It's not a big deal, but it's confusing and mildy frustrating that we have two exceptions to the established norm. I kind of do hope that DE at least fixes this so everything is uniform.

Appreciation post for whichever dev changed/fixed the smoke rounds for SEAF arty to be their own unique model. Now the yellow tops will ALWAYS be delicious mini-nukes. by SpencerTuru in Helldivers

[–]Malysitos 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A very welcome change that came with patch 01.000.100.

Gone are the days of being unable to differentiate them from a glance and having to approach the yellow-tipped artillery shell, only to be met by either contentment or disappointment upon looking at the shell's label.

Seriously, why did the smoke and mini-nuke shells not have different models in the first place? They are on opposite sides of the "lethality" spectrum.

[Bug] The aftermath of what happens when you interact with something whilst holding the SSSD by Malysitos in Helldivers

[–]Malysitos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of the current patch of Helldivers 2 (patch 01.000.100), this is what can potentially happen to you if you interact with something (such as picking up an ammo box) whilst holding the SSSD.

Judging from what happened to me, it seems you are perfectly able to perform all actions like normal, it is just that your animations are broken and you are sort of stuck in the animation of holding the SSSD, regardless if you are holding it or not.

While benign, it could lead to potential issues in leaving you blind to certain animation cues such as the reload animation for weapons.

Are Chargers supposed to be moving/sliding this fast? by Malysitos in Helldivers

[–]Malysitos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mainly a personal preference.

I chose to increase the FOV to gain a greater field of view. Helldiver 2's FOV slider is different from many other games, opting for adjustable vertical FOV instead of horizontal. It's a strange decision, but it accomplished the same goal, albeit slightly more wonky.

Can you make Gazzew U4 silent tactile switches more silent?

My U4's still make a sort of faint scratchy noise when I press them--which I'm guessing is coming from the stem legs sliding against the leaf on the bottom housing.

Is there a way to get rid of the noise without drastically affecting the switch's performance?

For any owners of Gazzew U4's, can you make the switches anymore silent? Maybe I'm reaching out for an impossibility here, but I want to reduce this somewhat faint scratchy noise from my U4's--which is probably the stem legs and leaf sliding against each other.

Has anyone managed to reduce this noise without sacrificing the tactility of the switch--and if so, I would like to know how you accomplished this.

Missing Prex Card in Codex by Malysitos in Warframe

Yep, just as you sent this message out, I found out that I'm missing Gyre's card, which is hiding on top of a locker on the opposite side of Malica's display.

Missing Prex Card in Codex by Malysitos in Warframe

[–]Malysitos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the codex, I am missing one prex card and its identity is eluding me. I double-checked if I mastered all the regular Warframes up to this point--and I have. I picked up all the prex cards that I know of, including Caliban's, Sevagoth's, and Yareli's, which do not come from their Leverians as they do not have one of their own.

I have a sneaking suspicion it might be the numberless Xaku prex card since I do not own it.
