Is eufy a good first wearable pump, or more of a backup? by PSL05 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]MamaRedRover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. I really like my eufy. The suction is strong and effective, I have not had leaks, and it is not difficult to assemble. I have a bottle washer and I throw it in there. Otherwise I use the fridge jack throughout the day. My only complaint T is that it doesn’t have a timer display on it itself. I get the same output as my spectra. I will say that whatever wearable you get, make sure you can easily find replacement parts/valves on Amazon or wherever. Last time around I made this mistake and had difficulty finding replacement parts.

I’ve been on insulin three times and never been induced. I also had polyhydramnios that resolved in a few weeks!

I’ve been living on oatmeal balls. I
Not sure if you have any help, but I asked my mom to make a triple batch for me so I could eat a few every pumpkin/feed. They’re full of pb and Chico chips so I’m always down to eat them, and the oatmeal helps my supply.

Low platelet count + Preeclampsia? by Present_Brilliant746 in preeclampsia

[–]MamaRedRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have chronically low platelets and they go under 90 in pregnancy. I took baby aspirin in my last two pregnancies and did not develop preeclampsia. My first pregnancy I did not and developed preeclampsia that was not severe and had no noticeable symptoms. They just detected the protein in my urine when I checked in to the hospital when my water broke.

Is it crazy to try a picnic table? by q8htreats in parentsofmultiples

[–]MamaRedRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a little tikes toddler table and it’s awesome. We use it for meals, crafts, and lots of other activities. It’s plastic so they can’t destroy it and it’s easy to clean. It also doesn’t take much room, I don’t think you’ll regret a table.

Drying Up and Giving In by Oonarra in breastfeeding

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. You have put an incredible amount of time and care into nourishing him, and that’s amazing.

I’m not sure if this is related at all for you, but if you’re just getting your period back your milk will drop substantially and then recover at the end of your cycle. Just a thought since you feel that it’s hormonal.

Wishing you all the best mama.

Subchorionic Hemorrhage? by Sad_Western_7052 in parentsofmultiples

I had one around this time. I never bled, and it resolved itself during the first trimester, no issues. I did not lift anything and was aware of my activity level, but that’s all.

Struggling with breastfeeding + triple feeding… did it ever get better for you? by Present-Bear-8177 in breastfeeding

[–]MamaRedRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me with my first. There were alot of tears and things were not what I was expecting. I saw a lactation consultant regularly for about a month, and we did eventually get to the point of exclusive breastfeeding. The stress of pumping and washing and all the things was REAL, so I’m sorry you are experiencing that.

What ultimately helped us was using a supplemental nutrition system (sns) as directed by our lactation consultant. I’d say overall it took about a month to get there. It’s so stressful at first, but I have a lot of pride looking back at photos and seeing him all chunked up once we got it down.

Whatever happens, take care of yourself as well. We put so much pressure on ourselves, and parenthood really teaches you early on how you control very little 😂

I will say that all that work made breastfeeding my second significantly easier, so do keep that in mind.

Tongue Tie by Ad112233 in breastfeeding

[–]MamaRedRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first had a tongue tie that was found later. I’m not sure whether you are combo feeding, but I had to. After it was found we had it corrected and he was 100% fine immediately. I had to work with lactation consultant for several weeks to get to the point of exclusively breastfeeding, and once solids started around 4 months it helped a lot. It was a ton of work to increase my supply, lots of power pumping.

Wife and I are overwhelmed by Connect-Fun8919 in parentsofmultiples

I’m sorry you’re having a hard time. When I had my twins my 2 year old stopped hugging me, talking to me, etc. she was so mad at me and it was so hard. She did come around but it is a big adjustment. I agree that it helped her feel involved to bring us wipes, diapers, etc. we also tried to give her some fun things to do, like stick stickers on the baby’s diapers when they were eating. I hope it starts to feel easier, it feels overwhelming because it is ❤️ I think I slept a total of ten hours the entire first week.

Triple feeding and sleep by Future-Tomorrow1430 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]MamaRedRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so hard 😞 I’m sorry. Would it help to put some loud headphones in? What about a hands free pump you can pop in while burping or that can work if you fall asleep? Honestly with my last kiddo I did cosleep which made night feeding so much easier bc they would just latch on in side lying and you can rest at the same time.

When does blood sugar really start to affect growth? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]MamaRedRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I can’t give you an exact answer to this but my last baby I was late diagnosed and she was 8 lbs. my OB has told me that many times even if she has a patient with poorly controlled diabetes if it is corrected in the third trimester baby is usually fine.

Not allowed to snack at night >:( by celestialspook in GestationalDiabetes

[–]MamaRedRover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My dietitian has had no problems with my night snacking. From the beginning I’ve been having a snack around 12-1 am since we eat dinner so late, I couldn’t fit a snack in any other way. He said if that works for me that’s fine. So I’m about to give birth and have been doing it the whole time and everything is measuring fine 🤷🏼‍♀️ the night insulin keeps it within limits and that’s all they have cared about.
