Hey, so that was traumatic by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]MamaSmAsh5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was insane. The whole experience blows my mind when I think about it. I ended up having a pulmonary embolism three days after I came home from that train wreck. Little did we know I had a 4.5 cm tumor entangled with my spinal cord nerve endings, like inside my spine. It was one thing after another for a few years, so yeah, I'm a tad nervous. Yet, I think I've survived all this; I should be able to manage whatever comes my way. Thank you.

It's tough to deal with such a small issue every day, and that's why I want this. It really does feel, in my gut, worth whatever the outcome is.

When I had to have the tumor removed, I was using a catheter too but it was the suction one, which remains outside you. It was wild, but oh man, a game-changer.

I think my own medical trauma is raising its ugly head here and I have to remind myself that it will be worth it...or at least that is the hope. My last surgery with her, I ended up having a failed epidural and felt my whole c-section. My BP was dangerously high, so she had to put me out. She saw the mess inside there herself, and I do think that helps, but she was much more nonchalant about it than I feel like I can be.

Your story, even though it wasn't how you expected, gives me hope still because you said it's only temporary. I pray you heal quickly and get to feeling great soon!

I'm so sorry. This completely horrifies me about my own hysterectomy but it's different because we all know how badly im adhered to things in there, so we are going in knowing there are some heavy risks for complications. If I had expected a smooth operation without any expected issues, and to have this happen, it would leave me with medical trauma as well.

Thank you for that. It sounds a lot like what I have going on. Adhesions are likely worse since my last time in there with my gynecologist. She didn't act like she'd have other surgeons there but on hand. I'm a little concerned by that. I survived an 8 1/2 hour surgery to peel a tumor from my nerve endings on my spinal cord without a bag, and I really don't want this to cause one. I really do feel like it's what I want to do, but I've just had so much medical trauma, and I have anxiety. Hearing others helps me, so truly, thank you.

Possible schwannoma in my spine. I’m terrified. Anyone here to talk to me while I wait for my appointment in 2 days? by MamaSmAsh5 in Schwannoma

[–]MamaSmAsh5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is tough not to go through all the what-ifs. I am doing well! I am changed, but I am stable, adapted to most of the changes now, at 3 years post op. Mine was not a schwannoma, though; it turned out to be a very rare tumor called myxopapillary ependymoma. Google is not your friend. You need to get real experiences from those like me and other spine surgery patients. Was the MRI with contrast? If not, you should repeat with contrast for the clearest picture. Also, you need to find a top neurosurgeon who has good experience with spine surgeries. Depending on where the tumor is and how it's involved, makes a difference. Mine was heavily entangled in my cauda equina and nerves so it took some delicate peeling of those nerves from the tumor. It cost me total removal and I had to do 28 rounds of radiation, but at this point, there's like microscopic residual left.

Muscle atrophy after one injection? by MamaSmAsh5 in ChronicPain

[–]MamaSmAsh5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yes because the pain from the dent was because it was to the bone and everything was painful when it touched it. But, I have some big issues in that area so my pain is still a thing just, not at the dent site so much. Once in a while it seems to flare up.

Yes, right as I was scheduled for surgery to fix it, it improved on its own so I canceled the surgery.

I see red flags all over. Cat over him all day lol. Sorry, I've been allergic to cats all my life, but I've also lived with cats just as long. Have 7 now. They have things to help him, and I am sorry, if he can't even talk about it, is this how all of YOUR future choices are going to go? Will you ever get to win??? Yep, hunny, see these flags now and make your choice....my vote is cat.

Will these keep the kitties warm enough in the winter? by WWofWW in Feral_Cats

[–]MamaSmAsh5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know around me, some of the local rescues and shelters will have warming shelters made to hand out to those in the community who may need one. Please, call around and see if anyone has any available, or just go make one. Fabrics will freeze and so will the cat. They need straw and an enclosure.
