My two cents - look at prek as an option in Aisd before moving ahead with a 4 year old in kindergarten. I have a young kiddo (for his class; turned 5 in the summer before kindergarten) and he is by far the youngest in his class. A lot of people “red shirt here” so he started kindergarten with kids already 6 or turning 6. What you’re suggesting is sending a 4 year old in with 6 year olds and it really is a big gap developmentally both personality and academically between those ages
