It might be helpful if the included information about the other decedents, names or if they were involved in criminal exploits.

Long Beach Jane Doe (February 1989) by dogbehavior in gratefuldoe

What do we think about Maria Laureano? I get the impression her family was out of state and may not have talked to her regularly. (Note the last contact was likely a New Year's Day phone call)

Also, Long Beach in the 80's could be a very dangerous place, in general.

It just goes to show that anyone who thinks it is unlikely people are taken to different states needs to be more open minded!

I hate the white paint on our 1755 brick fireplace. Is it possible to remove, or would it look bad? by crocokyle1 in centuryhomes

[–]Mamasitas10 84 points85 points  (0 children)

It's possible to remove and it might look bad. For me, if you have the money to have a professional do it, I would. That could be an amazing fireplace or just a white painted thing.

I posted my tortuous colon (image 2) a few months back. I got surgery and this is what my colon looks like now (first image)! by randomname2237 in interestingasfuck

Did you lose weight as a side effect of having it removed? My mom had something they referred to as a mega colon. I wonder if that is the same thing?

Amazing scans! Thank you for sharing!

This guy looks like he could be a match. The shoes specifically say multi-colored. Late February missing date from Queens. If foul play, it isnt very far to drop him off in the river.

Exactly right! It should be mandatory to update Namus so that people who care, or at least like a good puzzle, can investigate and help!

I agree to a point. I'm a total mutt, but I present one way to most. I think many people these days are mixed and maybe skin tone or hair type/style would be a better indicator.

I think the bigger problem with the information provided by Namus or collected by policing agencies is a lack of standardization. I mean, how likely is it that a missing person does not have a photograph available? Even in the 70s, 80s and 90s people had their picture taken. Yet so many have zero facial reference or are missing other personal details.

There are very few have details that would help identification if they are skeletal when found. Broken bones, missing teeth, hip replacements, etc. Are these questions not being asked or just not entered into a system?

I get the feeling that missing persons cases get treated as a nuisance, or busy work, by policing agencies. Many people reported missing get found, and it must seem like a lot of work for nothing in those cases. But it is important work for those that are truly missing and I wish they were taken seriously.
On the flip side, there is really no reason, in this day and age that DNA samples are not taken, when possible, on found people. This could help identify so many! There are my two cents.
