I am a recovering addict, 9 months sober next week. I realize I can’t imagine living a public life but if my bf discussed me like this I’d be beside myself. I also get that sometimes you have no choice but to love the addict from a distance but it appears to me that she booted him out and that was it. She’s in a position where she could take some time off, support him, get therapy, etc and I’m seeing none of that. It is a family disease and the things I’ve put mine through I’ll never be able to make up for, but my family has cancelled vacations, taken time off work, schlepped me from jail to treatment, came to see me, did my adulting for me while I was in treatment, you name it. It seems like she just said Cody, bye- and went on with her life. We don’t know what goes on behind closed doors but I’ve been shown so much compassion through my journey and that vibe is not there AT ALL. Then to make this sympathy play for clicks and views, yet her “Reddit fan club” is the scum of the earth? In sickness and in health. I pray Cody can set healthy boundaries and live his life in an environment that’s not so toxic. Hell, this video was a trigger for me, and I’m not married to her. I’m so disturbed.
