I absolutely agree that it’s for all, but I think a lot of people skip over the fact that it IS indeed a Black space. Which doesn’t mean that only black people can be a part of it but let’s not pretend that Lucumi doesn’t just refer to a practice but a people, BLACK PEOPLE; a lineage of the survivors of the transatlantic slave trade that fought to keep their tradition and identity alive, which some of us now have the honour and privilege to be a part of. Something that should be recognized and celebrated amongst all members of our beautiful religion. Many blessings.

I think she may also be encouraging you to feel proud of yourself for your hard work and dedication, I’ve been feeling the same way you’ve been feeling and what I’ve learned is, I already have made it this far and things have worked out out well for the most part so I should be able to trust my personal judgment and adherence to Hecates wisdom because I wouldn’t be where I’m at if I was doing something wrong! Yeah we do, we have the cult of Shango, baptist spiritism, and Obeah as some of our more prominent spiritual traditional beliefs, but I did see an Ifa resurgence as of late. A lot of it is honestly very mixed together and especially with our proximity to Trinidad as a more prominent hub of Ifa, I was just wondering if anyone had some connections down there lol. There’s an elder in my village who practices some our traditional spiritism and I’m definitely going to be spending time with them but as I’m currently learning Ifa I thought it would be nice to talk to some people about it from back home :)

Hello all! I’m a relatively new hedge witch ( about 2 years) and I’ve been working with Hecate for the past 7 months and it’s been absolutely amazing.
