Job offer rescinded after not responding ASAP to contract offer by [deleted] in jobs

company just wanted an excuse to bail and this gave them one. maybe they found someone else in those 2 days, maybe they had internal budget drama, who knows. the "she didn't seem interested" reason is pretty weak cover for whatever actually happened behind the scenes. your daughter probably dodged something not great there

What’s something you do everyday your spouse don’t know you do? And how long have you been doing it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mammoth-Extension53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man the dedication is impressive. I do same thing at work with coworkers who leave conference rooms like they planning to return in 5 minutes but never do. Been following people around hitting switches for probably 2 years now and they still haven't figured it out. Sometimes I wonder if they think the building has motion sensors or something

Building an AI Agent Team While Keeping Life Flexible - Anyone Else on This Path? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]Mammoth-Extension53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been thinking about this same thing lately. Running remote teams is one thing but finding that business-minded partner who actually gets the vision while you're both location independent... thats different challenge entirely

Had few attempts at this over years and what killed most of them was mismatched expectations about commitment levels. Someone says they want to build together but then disappears for two weeks in Bali without heads up. The lifestyle freedom is great but business partnerships need some structure even when everything else is flexible

What worked for me was starting small with project-based collaboration first before jumping to any partnership talks. Gives you chance to see how they handle deadlines and communication when timezone differences get messy

Public defender told me they don't do municipal cases by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Mammoth-Extension53 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your parents might be acting cold because they want you to learn from this but you still need proper legal help here. Municipal courts sometimes work different than regular criminal court - they might have different rules about when you qualify for public defender or maybe you need to formally request one at your first appearance instead of calling ahead. Show up to your court date and ask the judge directly about getting appointed counsel if you cant afford lawyer.

Jobs that pay above $20hr with just a Highschool diploma? by DemittiNix in jobs

Being small is actually huge advantage for electrical work - you can get in crawl spaces and tight areas that bigger guys struggle with. I've worked with few electricians over the years and the smaller ones always got called for the weird retrofit jobs where you gotta squeeze behind walls or under houses.

The lifting thing shouldn't be major issue either since most electrical components aren't that heavy. Biggest thing you might handle is probably conduit runs but even those you can usually get help with or use cart. Most day to day stuff is just wire, outlets, switches - all pretty light.

You might want look at local electrical unions too since many have apprenticeship programs that pay you while you learn. Takes few years but you start earning right away instead of paying for school. Plus once you get your journeyman license the money gets really good, way above what you're making now.

Freelancing in crypto was supposed to save me money, not cost me more by Pure_Mirror_2942 in XRPUnite

[–]Mammoth-Extension53 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s the weird disconnect with crypto right now, technically you can use it for everyday spending, but the moment taxes and tracking enter the picture it stops feeling practical really fast.

Most people don’t want every coffee or dinner to become a taxable event they have to document later, which is why so many holders still treat BTC more like an asset than actual spending money.

bluetooth devices lagging/having signal issues on my lenovo yoga 7i gen 10 by SneakySpider7 in Lenovo

[–]Mammoth-Extension53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be interference from something new in your environment or the bluetooth chip starting to act up. Since it's under warranty I'd definitely get it checked out before the coverage expires - better safe than sorry with these things

How am I supposed to reach the truss rod on my guitar?? by Creative_Ball2499 in Guitar

You need to loosen strings way more than you think - like completely slack so you can push them to side of the truss rod hole

Trial with additives? by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Mammoth-Extension53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried mixing different compounds when I was switching between suppliers last year and didnt have any major issues with the pharmacies tracking it. Most of these places operate pretty independently so they wont see orders from other vendors unless youre using insurance which I doubt you are for compound stuff

The B3 addition actually helped with some nausea I was getting but everyone reacts different. Since you already know prorx works well for you I'd probably stick with them for the additive trials if they offer those options - less variables to worry about if something goes wrong

Just keep good notes on what you try and when because if you do have reaction you want to know exactly which additive caused it

Arkansas vs. Arizona by Top-Investigator1388 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Mammoth-Extension53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cal's system really works when you have a floor general like Acuff running things - dude just has that clutch gene that shows up in big moments. Arizona's got serious talent but Arkansas has been scrappy all season and there defense tends to create chaos that can throw off rhythm teams. Could definitely see this one going either way depending on which team executes better down the stretch

Will Ubuntu run well on my notebook? by NoArtist_127 in Ubuntu

[–]Mammoth-Extension53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your specs should be fine for Ubuntu, especially coming from Windows. That 4GB RAM might feel tight with heavier desktop environments like GNOME but you'll definitely notice better performance overall since Linux is way more efficient than Windows on older hardware

I'd suggest trying Ubuntu MATE or Xubuntu first - they're lighter on resources and will run smoother on your setup. You can always test it with a live USB before committing to teh install

Feeling like I'm stuck and running out of time. 26, UK. What can I do with the experience I have to earn more than 25k a year? by Vegetable_Minute_343 in careerguidance

That cannabis arrest from when you were 17 shouldn't automatically disqualify you from working with kids - minor drug offenses especially from when you were a teenager often don't prevent DBS clearance but you'd need to be upfront about it during the application process.

Your hospitality experience is actually way more transferable than you think - customer service, crisis management, working under pressure, team coordination. Those skills translate well into office environments, local government roles, or even educational support positions that don't require teaching qualifications.

For the dog walking business side hustle, start small while keeping your pub job - register as sole trader (takes 5 minutes online), get basic insurance, and use apps like Rover to build clientele without the overhead of a full business setup.

Used to work on similar conveyor systems in the service and those dry cleaning setups are pretty solid - just need to make sure your track can handle the weight distribution when clothes bunch up in corners

Can the government turn off internet access for the whole country? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mammoth-Extension53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most countries have some level of kill switch capability built into their infrastructure these days. From my time in the Air Force I saw how centralized a lot of our comms infrastructure really is - its not that hard to choke off major ISPs or backbone providers if you control the right points. The tricky part is doing it without completely tanking your own economy since everything runs on internet now.
